KalimNews, Kalimpong, 13 February 2021: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:

1 Death:

Jagdish Sharma, 77 yr old of Sevoke Road (under Jalpaiguri dist), died in Dr Chhang’s Covid SS Hospital. He had comorbidities (Diabetes and hypertension and shifted from a nursing home)

Test report from VRD Laboratory at NBMCH

Tests done in the districts of Darjeeling- 317, Kalimpong- 26,  Jalpaiguri- 311, Alipurduar- 299; TOTAL= 953. None tested positive while 3 of Repeat tests tested positive.

5 in SMC:

5 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (1 in Darjeeling and 4 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive.

Of the 1 positive cases of the district, 1 is from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.

1 death, 1 new case, 5 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 1 new case, 14669 confirmed cases of which 163 died while 14410 have recovered and 96 are active cases.

2 in Uttar Dinajpur:

2 new case, 4 release reported today from Uttar Dinajpur. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Uttar Dinajpur records 2 new cases, 6651 confirmed cases of which 76 died while 6489 have recovered and 86 are active cases.

2 in Dakshin Dinajpur:

2 new cases, 7 release reported today from Dakshin Dinajpur. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 Dakshin Dinajpur records 2 new cases, 8175 confirmed cases of which 74 died while 8087 have recovered and 14 are active cases.

1 in Malda:  

1 new case, 5 release reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 1 new case, 12669 confirmed cases of which 12506 have recovered and 114 died and 49 are active cases.

0 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery no case have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.

During the last 24 hours no suspected Covid patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There is no patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and no patients in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, Surgical isolation ward and Isolation ward -1.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

In Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 6 Covid-19 patients (4 are in ICU) are admitted, during the last 24 hours 1 patient is newly admitted and 2 released.
