KalimNews, Kalimpong, 4 January 2021 : Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:-
Nil Death:
No death recorded for the last 4 days during the last 24 hours.
9 in SMC:
9 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (6 in Darjeeling and 3 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive.
13 in Darjeeling district:
Of the 13 positive cases of Darjeeling district, 6 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 1 is from Darjeeling hills- 1 in Mirik tested positive. Of the plains they are- 2 in Matigara, 3 in Phansidewa, 1 in Naxalbari..
State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 12 new cases,17903 confirmed cases of which 17273 have recovered and 198 died while 432 are active cases.
5 in Kalimpong:
5 new cases, 4 release reported today from Kalimpong. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 1 new cases, 2174 confirmed cases of which 2106 have recovered, 24 died and 44 are active cases.
2 in Alipurduar:
2 new cases, 6 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 2 new cases, 7647 confirmed cases of which 7518 have recovered and 85 died while 44 are active cases.
7 in Coochbehar:
7 new cases, 31 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 7 new cases, 11694 confirmed cases of which 11422 have recovered, 72 died and 200 are active cases.
20 in Jalpaiguri:
20 new cases, 28 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 10 new cases, 14421 confirmed cases of which 155 died while 13894 have recovered and 372 are active cases.
6 in Malda:
1death, 9 new cases, 21 release reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 9 new cases, 12506 confirmed cases of which 12152 have recovered and 113 died and 241 are active cases.
24 Discharged:
After testing negative and recovery 24 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today.
NBMCH
During the last 24 hours 4 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 2 patients admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 1 in Surgical isolation ward and 1 in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and no patients in Isolation ward -1.
1 each of 1st Division Som TE Darjeeling and Algarah Kalimpong –total 2 of GTA area admitted.
DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital
At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 21 Covid-19 patients (7 are in ICU) are admitted, during the last 24 hours 2 patients newly admitted and 1 released.
At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of Lebong Darjeeling, Takdah Cantonment, Saureni Mirik and Naya Bazar Kurseong - total 4 of GTA area admitted.
DESUN Hospital
In DESUN Hospital at Kawakhali, 4 Covid-19 patients are admitted and nil patients are newly admitted and nil released.
- total nil of GTA area is admitted in this hospital. It is derognised as designated Covid Hospital by the government though treatment of Covid patients will be done as usual in private manner.

TRIBENI Covid Hospital
7 patients of Darjeeling and 5 from Kalimpong are admitted, nil released in this hospital.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES
The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 326 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 445 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 771.
There are 6 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 12 in GTA area and nil Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, nil in Safe homes outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 18 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
COVID PATIENTS IN THE SIX DISTRICTS OUT OF 8 DISTRICTS OF NORTH BENGAL
Today’s daily state bulletin regarding the report of the last 24 hrs and from the beginning till today stated that Darjeeling district records 12 new cases,17903 confirmed cases of which 17273 have recovered and 198 died while 432 are active cases.
Similarly Kalimpong district records 1 new cases, 2174 confirmed cases of which 2106 have recovered, 24 died and 44 are active cases.
Alipurduar records 2 new cases, 7647 confirmed cases of which 7518 have recovered and 85 died while 44 are active cases.
Coochbehar records 7 new cases, 11694 confirmed cases of which 11422 have recovered, 72 died and 200 are active cases.
