
Darj Police to help youths in competitive exam preps

SNS, DARJEELING, 2 JANUARY 2020 : Cis all set to provide a platform for youths in the district by helping them in preparations for various competitive exams through their new initiative launched today.
Christened the Tenzing Norgay e-Prashikshan with the slogan "Together with you in pursuing your dreams," the police will be choosing 100 youths each belonging to a particular police station area to give them the assistance.
"Through this programme, we want to provide youths who are employment seekers with guidance on appearing in various competitive exams in different government departments, from Railways to Police to civil services, among others. We will guide them in not specific exams, but a wide range is being targeted.We want to connect with the people to provide a platform so that they can achieve their employment potentials," Darjeeling ASP Abhishek Gupta said.
According to a press 'release issued by Darjeeling Police, the objective of such Community Police Programmes is also to increase mental capacity and prepare the youths for interviews.
Youths who have cleared their Class VIII exams and above and are in the age group of 18 and 32 years are eligible for registration for the programme at their respective police stations.
The press release further said that the training will be imparted in their respective police stations with a batch of l00 people each. It added that senior officers of Darjeeling Police and other departments will also take classes on various subjects depending on the upcoming competitive exams.
"Presently, e-training has become very important as everything has gone online. We want to give much of the training through WhatsApp," Mr Gupta said.
The statement maintained that there will be one Nodal Officer from each Police Station who will create a WhatsApp group from each police station that will provide the required study material subject-wise and also provide updates regarding new job notifications in the coming days.
For registration, the candidates should visit their nearest PS with their documents and passport size photos to fill up the application form.
The police stations mentioned for this include Sukna, Kurseong, Sukhia, Naxalbari, Mirik, Jorebunglow, Kharibari, Phansidewa, Pulbazar, Lodhoma, Rungli Rungliot, Sadar along with Singamari Town Outpost and Ghoshpukur Camp.
