5 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 7 in Kalimpong 1 in Kurseong Municipality tested positive. Of the plains they are- 2 in Matigara, 6 in Phansidewa, 1 in Pansidewa.

1 in Alipurduar, 6 in Coochbehar, 8 in Jalpaiguri, 3 in Malda districts tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 8 January 2021 : Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

Nil Death: 

8 in SMC:

8 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (7 in Darjeeling and 1 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

17 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 17 positive cases of Darjeeling district, 7 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 1 from Darjeeling hills – 1 in Kurseong Municipality tested positive. Of the plains they are- 2 in Matigara, 6 in Phansidewa, 1 in Pansidewa. ,

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 13 new cases,17996 confirmed cases of which 17444 have recovered and 200 died while 352 are active cases.

7 in Kalimpong:

7 new cases, 2 release reported today from Kalimpong. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 7 new cases, 2188 confirmed cases of which 2124 have recovered, 24 died and 40 are active cases.

1 in Alipurduar:

1 new cases, 7 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 1 new cases, 7658 confirmed cases of which 7534 have recovered and 85 died while 39 are active cases.

6 in Coochbehar: 

6 new cases, 6 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 6 new cases, 11734 confirmed cases of which 11511 have recovered, 72 died and 151 are active cases.

8 in Jalpaiguri: 

8 new cases, 24 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 21 new cases, 14480 confirmed cases of which 156 died while 14057 have recovered and 267 are active cases.

3 in Malda:  

3 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 4 new cases, 12543 confirmed cases of which 12242 have recovered and 113 died and 188 are active cases.

5 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 5 cases have been released including home isolation patients but excluding private hospitals and army establishments. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 2 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 2 patients admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, and no patients in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward,   Surgical isolation ward and in Isolation ward -1.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 21 Covid-19 patients (8 are in ICU) are admitted, during the last 24 hours 3 patients newly admitted and 2 released.
