24 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 1 in Kalimpong nil from Darjeeling hills –tested positive. Of the plains they are- 1 in Naxalbari,, 2 in Phansidewa.

1 in Alipurduar, 6 in Coochbehar, 8 in Jalpaiguri, 3 in Malda districts tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 9 January 2021 : Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

Nil Death: 

8 in SMC:

8 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (5 in Darjeeling and 3 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

8 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 8 positive cases of Darjeeling district, 5 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while nil from Darjeeling hills –tested positive. Of the plains they are- 1 in Naxalbari,, 2 in Phansidewa.

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 20 new cases,18016 confirmed cases of which 17478 have recovered and 200 died while 338 are active cases.

7 in Kalimpong:

7 new cases, 2 release reported today from Kalimpong. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 1 new cases, 2189 confirmed cases of which 2126 have recovered, 24 died and 39 are active cases.

1 in Alipurduar:

1 new cases, 7 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 1 new cases, 7659 confirmed cases of which 7536 have recovered and 85 died while 38 are active cases.

6 in Coochbehar: 

6 new cases, 6 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 7 new cases, 11741 confirmed cases of which 11521 have recovered, 72 died and 148 are active cases..

8 in Jalpaiguri: 

8 new cases, 24 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 8 new cases, 14488 confirmed cases of which 156 died while 14081 have recovered and 251 are active cases.

3 in Malda:  

3 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 5 new cases, 12548 confirmed cases of which 12250 have recovered and 113 died and 185 are active cases.

24 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 24 cases have been released including home isolation patients but excluding private hospitals and army establishments. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 6 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 3 patients admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, and 1 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward,   2 in Surgical isolation ward and no patint in Isolation ward -1.

1 each of 1^st Division Som TE Darjeeling and Algarah Kalimpong –total 2 of GTA area admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 21 Covid-19 patients (6 are in ICU) are admitted, during the last 24 hours 1 patient newly admitted and 1 released.

GTA

TRIBENI Covid Hospital 

4 patients of Darjeeling and 4 from Kalimpong are admitted, nil released in this hospital. 

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 326 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 343 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 669.

There are 2 Covid patients in 1 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 8 in GTA area and nil Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, nil in Safe homes outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 10 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
