1 death (of Takdah), 2 of Hills (1 in Kalimpong and 1 in Darjeeling), 8 in SMC are infected

13 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 1 in Kalimpong, 1 in Darjeeling Municipality tested positive,. Of the plains they are- 3 in Naxalbari.

3 in Alipurduar, 5 in Coochbehar, 8 in Jalpaiguri, 2 in Malda districts tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 17 January 2021 : Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

1 Death: 

1 death is reported during the last 24 hours in Covid hospitals of Darjeeling district. 

Mira Sherpa, 71 yr old of Upper Hum Busty, Tinchulay Takdah died in Dr. Chhang’s Covid Hospital.

3 in SMC:

3 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (2 in Darjeeling and 1 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

6 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 6 positive cases of Darjeeling district, 2 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC, while 1 is from Darjeeling Hills - 1 in Darjeeling Municipality tested positive,. Of the plains they are- 3 in Naxalbari.

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 19 new cases,18153 confirmed cases of which 17690 have recovered and 201 died while 262 are active cases.

1 in Kalimpong:

1 new cases, 1 release reported today from Kalimpong. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 1 new cases, 2203 confirmed cases of which 2142 have recovered, 25 died and 36 are active cases.

3 in Alipurduar:

3 new cases, 4 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 1 new cases, 7678 confirmed cases of which 7555 have recovered and 85 died while 38 are active cases.

5 in Coochbehar: 

5 new cases, 5 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 7 new cases, 11779 confirmed cases of which 11605 have recovered, 72 died and 102 are active cases.

8 in Jalpaiguri: 

8 death, 18 new cases, 10 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 9 new cases, 14559 confirmed cases of which 158 died while 14224 have recovered and 177 are active cases.

2 in Malda:  

2 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 2 new cases, 12600 confirmed cases of which 12342 have recovered and 113 died and 145 are active cases.

13 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 13 cases have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 2 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 2 patients admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, and no patients in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, in Surgical isolation wards and Isolation ward -1.

1 each of 1st Division Som TE Darjeeling and Algarah Kalimpong –total 2 of GTA area admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 18 Covid-19 patients (6 are in ICU) are admitted, during the last 24 hours 4 patient is newly admitted and 3 released.
