1 death (of Sittong): 11 of Hills (4 of Kalimpong and 7 of Darjeeling), 22 of SMC infected

31 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 4 in Kalimpong, 2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 1 in Takdah,  2 in Pulbazar tested positive. Of the plains they are- 3 in Sukuna, 6 in Matigara, 2 in Khoribari, 1 in Phansidewa  3 in Naxalbari.

6 in Malda, 1 in Alipurduar, 5 in Coochbehar, 25 in Jalpaiguri and tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 31 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

1 Death: 

Sara Rai, 48 yr old of Sittong Kurseong died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara. 

22 in SMC:

22 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (12 in Darjeeling and 10 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

34 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 34 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 12 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 7 are from Darjeeling hills- - 2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 1 in Takdah,  2 in Pulbazar tested positive. Of the plains they are- 3 in Sukuna, 6 in Matigara, 2 in Khoribari, 1 in Phansidewa  3 in Naxalbari.

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 42 new cases,17827 confirmed cases of which 17145 have recovered and 198 died while 484 are active cases.

4 in Kalimpong:

4 new cases, 5 release reported today from Kalimpong. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 4 new cases, 2165 confirmed cases of which 2092 have recovered, 24 died and 49 are active cases.

1 in Alipurduar:

1 new cases, 7 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 7 new cases, 7639 confirmed cases of which 7503 have recovered and 85 died while 51 are active cases.

5 in Coochbehar: 

5 new cases, 7 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 10 new cases, 11667 confirmed cases of which 11354 have recovered, 72 died and 241 are active cases.

25 in Jalpaiguri: 

25 new cases, 51 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 25 new cases, 14363 confirmed cases of which 155 died while 13827 have recovered and 381 are active cases.

6 in Malda:  

6 new cases, 31 release reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 12 new cases, 12477 confirmed cases of which 12034 have recovered and 111 died and 273 are active cases.

31 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 31 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 5 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 1 in Surgical isolation ward and nil in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and no patients in Isolation ward -1.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 20 Covid-19 patients (5 are in ICU) are admitted, during the last 24 hours 5 patients newly admitted and 2 released.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 17 Covid-19 patients are admitted and nil patients are newly admitted and 3 released.
