1 death; 6 of Hills (1 of Kalimpong and 5 of Darjeeling), 12 of SMC, 8 of GTA are infected

23 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 1 in Kalimpong,  1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 2 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari and 1 Takdah tested positive. Of the plains they are- 4 in Naxalbari, 

1 in Alipurduar, 4 in Coochbehar, 8 in Jalpaiguri, 5 in Malda districts tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 10 January 2021 : Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

1 Death: 

Minati Pal, 46 yr old of Bibati Colony, Hyderpara Siliguri died in Dr. Chhang’s SS Hospital. 

12 in SMC:

12 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (5 in Darjeeling and 7 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

14 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 14 positive cases of Darjeeling district, 5 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 5 from Darjeeling Hills – 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 2 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari and 1 Takdah tested positive. Of the plains they are- 4 in Naxalbari, 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 17 new cases,18033 confirmed cases of which 17499 have recovered and 200 died while 334 are active cases.

1 in Kalimpong:

1 new cases, 2 release reported today from Kalimpong. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 1 new cases, 2190 confirmed cases of which 2129 have recovered, 24 died and 37 are active cases.

1 in Alipurduar:

1 new cases, 2 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 3 new cases, 7662 confirmed cases of which 7538 have recovered and 85 died while 39 are active cases.

4 in Coochbehar: 

4 new cases, 4 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 5 new cases, 11746 confirmed cases of which 11532 have recovered, 72 died and 142 are active cases.

11 in Jalpaiguri: 

11 new cases, 24 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 11 new cases, 14499 confirmed cases of which 157 died while 14088 have recovered and 254 are active cases.

5 in Malda:  

5 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 7 new cases, 12555 confirmed cases of which 12263 have recovered and 113 died and 179 are active cases.

23 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 23 cases have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients of  private hospitals and army establishments. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 7 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 1 patients admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 3 patients in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward,   3 in Surgical isolation ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1.

1 each of 1st Division Som TE Darjeeling and Algarah Kalimpong –total 2 of GTA area admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 18 Covid-19 patients (4 are in ICU) are admitted, during the last 24 hours 1 patient newly admitted and 3 released.

1 of Lebong Darjeeling - total 1 of GTA area is admitted in this hospital..

2 patients of Darjeeling and 3 from Kalimpong are admitted, 3 released in this hospital.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 326 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 319 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 645.

There are 3 Covid patients in 1 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 5 in GTA area and nil Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, nil in Safe homes outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 8 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
