An 'awkward situation' at hand- both the factions of the Morcha visited him separately in Siliguri

SNS,
SILIGURI. 4 DECEMBER 2020 : Trinamul Congress leaders, the police, and even ministers in CM Mamata Banerjee's Cabinet have landed in an embarrassing situation after they realized that the state government had allowed fugitive leaders of the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha, Bimal Gurung, Roshan Giri and others, to move about freely in the Terai, Dooars and even the Hills.

According to sources, police in Darjeeling are "demoralized," but that they are now unwillingly working to provide protection to Mr Gurung and his leaders, who were once the most wanted men in the state.

Significantly, minister-in-charge for labour department Moloy Ghatak landed in an awkward situation after trade union leaders associated with tea plantations and belonging to both the factions of the Morcha visited him separately in Siliguri yesterday. "Leaders of trade unions of both the factions discussed issues related to tea gardens in the region with the minister," a source said today.
