4 death; 28 of Hills (17 of Kalimpong and 11 of Darjeeling), 70 of SMC, 56 of GTA area infected

79 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 17 in Kalimpong, 5 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 3 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 4 in Sukuna, 12 in Matigara, 8 in Naxalbari, and 4 in Phansidewa tested positive.  12 in Alipurduar, 28 in Coochbehar, 47 in Jalpaiguri and 18 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 3 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

4 Death: 

4 death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district. 

Bal Bahadur Gurung, 69 yr old of Bich Kaman Mangpur Rangli Rangliot died in Desun Covid Hospital.;

Kartik Chandra Singha, 86 yr old of Pradhan Nagar Siliguri died (ARDS) in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

Anita Lama, 50 yr old of Darjeeling More died in RICU ward of NBMCH.

Dr Mrinal Kanti Acharya of Jalpaiguri died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital. after 40 days of treatment, he tested negative after his death. 

70 in SMC:

70 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (37 in Darjeeling and 33 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

76 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 76 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 37 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 11 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 5 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 3 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 4 in Sukuna, 12 in Matigara, 8 in Naxalbari, and 4 in Phansidewa tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 151 new cases,15722 confirmed cases of which 14690 have recovered and 184 died while 848 are active cases.

17 in Kalimpong:

17 new cases, 11 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 12 new cases, 1839 confirmed cases of which 1752 have recovered, 22 died and 65 are active cases.

18 in Malda:  

18 new cases, reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 59new cases, 11628 confirmed cases of which 11149 have recovered and 103 died and 376 are active cases.

12 in Alipurduar:

12 new cases, 21 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 47 new cases, 7290 confirmed cases of which 7114 have recovered and 84 died while 92 are active cases.

28 in Coochbehar: 

28 new cases, 31 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 81 new cases, 10774 confirmed cases of which 10286 have recovered, 65 died and 423 are active cases.

47 in Jalpaiguri: 

47 new cases, 40 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 121 new cases, 12734 confirmed cases of which 137 died while 11759 have recovered and 838 are active cases.

79 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 79 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 20 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 5 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 12 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 3 patients in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

2 of Takdah, 1 each of Pulbazar and Fagu Gorubathan–total 3 of GTA area are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 71 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 21 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 3 patients are newly admitted and 6 are released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Ghayabari Kurseong, Giddepahar Kurseong, Ambotia Kurseong, Sherpa Busty Kurseong, Sudhapatol Kurseong, Singell TE Kurseong, Simulbari, Jawahar busty Darjeeling, Dr. Zakir Hussain Busty, NB Sing Road Darjeeling, North Point Singmari, 29th Mile Kalimpong GTA area (13) are admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 55 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 2 patients are newly admitted, 4 are released.

1 each of Nandalal Gaon Mirik, MP Road Darjeeling, Reserve forest Mungpoo, Mungpoo of GTA area (6) are admitted.

SILIGURI INDOOR STADIUM

1 each from Mirik and Shantigram admitted.

9 patients of Darjeeling and 23 from Kalimpong are admitted, 1 released and 1 referred out in this hospital.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 567 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 555 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1122.

There are 20 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 32 in GTA area and 2 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 56 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
