4 death; 14 of Hills (8 of Kalimpong and 6 of Darjeeling), 24 of SMC, 49 of GTA area infected

66 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last  24 hrs – 8 in Kalimpong, 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Pulbazar, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 3 in Mirik. Of the plains they are-5 in Sukuna, 2 in Khoribari, 7 in Matigara, 5 in Naxalbari, tested positive. 

14 in Malda, 20 in Alipurduar, 25 in Coochbehar, 87 in Jalpaiguri and tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 14 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

4 Death: 

Sefali  Saha, 66 yr old of Laketown Bhaktinagar Siliguri; 

Apurba Mondal, 84 yr old of Shantipara Jalpaiguri died in Dr. Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital

Ankit Mitra, 19 yr old of Senpara Jalpaiguri;

Paresh Chandra Ghose, 91 yr old of Haren Mukherjee Road Hakimpara died in a Nursing Home at Sevoke Road.

24 in SMC:

24 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (14 in Darjeeling and 10 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

39 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 39 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 14 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 6 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Pulbazar, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 3 in Mirik. Of the plains they are-5 in Sukuna, 2 in Khoribari, 7 in Matigara, 5 in Naxalbari, tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 48 new cases,16818 confirmed cases of which 15869 have recovered and 194 died while 755 are active cases.

8 in Kalimpong:

8 new cases from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 8 new cases, 2007 confirmed cases of which 1934 have recovered, 22 died and 51 are active cases.

14 in Malda:  

14 new cases, reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 41 new cases, 12060 confirmed cases of which 11565 have recovered and 109 died and 386 are active cases.

20 in Alipurduar:

20 new cases, 12 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 10 new cases, 74673 confirmed cases of which 7297 have recovered and 85 died while 91 are active cases.

25 in Coochbehar: 

25 new cases, 23 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 14 new cases, 11273 confirmed cases of which 10753 have recovered, 67 died and 453 are active cases.

14 in Jalpaiguri: 

1 death, 84 new cases, 87 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 47 new cases, 13638 confirmed cases of which 148 died while 12833 have recovered and 657 are active cases.

66 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 66 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 6 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 1 in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and 1 patient in Surgical isolation ward and no patients in Isolation ward -1.

1 of Fagu Gorubathan Kalimpong–total 1 of GTA area are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 69 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 19 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 6 patients are newly admitted and 1 are released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of Mary Villa Darjeeling, Singell TE Kurseong, M. V. Road Kurseong, Super Market Kurseong, Mahanadi Kurseong, Makaibari Kurseong, Rohini Kurseong, Tindharia, Rangbhang Busty Sukhiapokhari, Rajbari Darjeeling, Singla Bazar, Tshering Gaon Mirik and BDO Office Kalimpong, Dalgaon Gorubathan, Lava Kalimpong (15) are admitted.

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 41 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 4 patients are newly admitted, 3 are released.

1 of Bhalukhop Kalimpong of GTA area (1) admitted.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 326 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 524 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 850.

There are 17 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 17 in GTA area and 10 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 5 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 49 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
