3 death; 30 of Hills (17 of Kalimpong and 13 of Darjeeling), 24 of SMC, 58 of GTA area infected

90 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last  24 hrs – 17 in Kalimpong, 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 7 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 4 in Sukuna, 2 in Khoribari, 13 in Matigara, 3 in Naxalbari, and 1 in Phansidewa tested positive.  

21 in Malda, 9 in Alipurduar, 21 in Coochbehar, 77 in Jalpaiguri tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 10 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

3 Death: 

Prava Sharma, 63 yr old of Ward No 15 Siliguri;

Maha Prasad Poddar, 68 yr old of Siliguri;

Thaneswar Prasad, 75 yr old of Naya Bazar Jorethang Sikkim died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

24 in SMC:

24 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (17 in Darjeeling and 7 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

53 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 53 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 17 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 13 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 7 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 4 in Sukuna, 2 in Khoribari, 13 in Matigara, 3 in Naxalbari, and 1 in Phansidewa tested positive.  

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 85 new cases,16493 confirmed cases of which 15483 have recovered and 189 died while 821 are active cases.

17 in Kalimpong:

17 new cases from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 9 new cases, 1963 confirmed cases of which 1840 have recovered, 22 died and 101 are active cases.

21 in Malda:  

21 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 19 new cases, 11901 confirmed cases of which 11431 have recovered and 107 died and 363 are active cases.

9 in Alipurduar:

9 new cases, 17 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 22 new cases, 7423 confirmed cases of which 7242 have recovered and 85 died while 96 are active cases.

21 in Coochbehar: 

21 new cases, 25 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 38 new cases, 11113 confirmed cases of which 10551 have recovered, 66 died and 496 are active cases.

77 in Jalpaiguri: 

2 death, 77 new cases, 107 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 92 new cases, 13372 confirmed cases of which 142 died while 12456 have recovered and 774 are active cases.

90 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 90 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 14 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 6 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 4 patients in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 each of Takdah, Bijanbari and Fagu Gorubathan, Kalimpong–total 3 of GTA area are admitted.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 2 of Singell TE Kurseong,1 each of  North Point Singmari, Rashik gram Darjeeling, Pandam T.E., St. Mary’s Hill Kurseong, St. Mary’s Villa Kurseong, M. V. Road Kurseong, Super Market Kurseong, and BDO Office Kalimpong, Dalgaon Gorubathan, 29th Mile Kalimpong (12) are admitted.

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 43 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 7 patients are newly admitted, 7 are released.

1 of Bhalukhop Kalimpong of GTA area (1) are admitted.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 326 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 533 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 859.

There are 16 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 20 in GTA area and 16 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 1 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 58 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
