2 death; 39 of Hills (22 of Kalimpong and 17 of Darjeeling), 54 of SMC infected

101 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 22 in Kalimpong, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Mirik, 1 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 3 in Sukuna, 23 in Matigara, 1 in Khoribari, 8 in Naxalbari tested positive. 20 in Alipurduar, 39 in Coochbehar, 144 in Jalpaiguri and 31 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 5 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:-  

2 Death: Kali Mohan Debnath, 93 yr old of Phansidewa died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

Sang Dorji Tamang, 54 yr old of Singbuli 2 no Phuguri Mirik died in Desun Covid Hospital.

35 in SMC:

35 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (23 in Darjeeling and 12 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

74 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 74 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 23 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 17 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 8 in Kurseong Municipality, 6 in Mirik, 1 in Sukhiapokhari. Of the plains they are- 10 in Sukuna, 11 in Matigara, 5 in Khoribari, 7 in Naxalbari, and 1 in Phansidewa tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 138 new cases,15994 confirmed cases of which 14886 have recovered and 187 died while 921 are active cases.

22 in Kalimpong:

22 new cases from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 32 new cases, 1898 confirmed cases of which 1775 have recovered, 22 died and 101 are active cases.

31 in Malda:  

31 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 72 new cases, 11744 confirmed cases of which 11230 have recovered and 105 died and 409 are active cases.

20 in Alipurduar:

20 new cases, 27 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 26 new cases, 7336 confirmed cases of which 7158 have recovered and 85 died while 93 are active cases.

39 in Coochbehar: 

39 new cases, 35 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 52 new cases, 10883 confirmed cases of which 10354 have recovered, 65 died and 464 are active cases.

144 in Jalpaiguri: 

144 new cases, 92 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 106 new cases, 12984 confirmed cases of which 139 died while 12002 have recovered and 843 are active cases.

101 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 101 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 23 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 7 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 12 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 4 patients in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 71 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 21 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 3 patients are newly admitted and 6 are released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Ghayabari Kurseong, Sudhapatol Kurseong, Singell TE Kurseong, Simulbari, Dr. Zakir Hussain Busty, NB Sing Road Darjeeling, North Point Singmari, Rashik gram Darjeeling, and 29th Mile Kalimpong GTA area (9) are admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 46 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 8 patients are newly admitted, 13 are released.
