2 death; 14 of Hills (8 of Kalimpong and 6 of Darjeeling), 34 of SMC infected

58 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last  24 hrs – 8 in Kalimpong, 3 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Pulbazar and 1 in Mirik. Of the plains they are-2 in Sukuna, 8 in Matigara, 6 in Naxalbari, and tested positive. 

12 in Malda, 7 in Alipurduar, 25 in Coochbehar, 38 in Jalpaiguri and tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 17 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

2 Death: 

Shipra Bagchi, 70 yr old of Swamiji Sarani, Hakimpara Siliguri died in a Nursing Home at Sevoke Road.

Dr Ananta Roy (Dentist of Jalpaiguri ), 64 yr old of Jalpaiguri died in a Hospital of Matigara.

34 in SMC:

34 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (22 in Darjeeling and 12 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

44 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 44 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 22 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 6 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 3 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Pulbazar and 1 in Mirik. Of the plains they are-2 in Sukuna, 8 in Matigara, 6 in Naxalbari, and tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 84 new cases,17039 confirmed cases of which 16194 have recovered and 195 died while 650 are active cases.

8 in Kalimpong:

1 death, 8 new cases, 9 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 8 new cases, 2042 confirmed cases of which 1963 have recovered, 23 died and 56 are active cases.

12 in Malda:  

12 new cases, reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 30 new cases, 12162 confirmed cases of which 11662 have recovered and 109 died and 391 are active cases.

7 in Alipurduar:

7 new cases, 25 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 11 new cases, 7508 confirmed cases of which 7350 have recovered and 85 died while 73 are active cases.

25 in Coochbehar: 

25 new cases, 23 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 21 new cases, 11352 confirmed cases of which 10867 have recovered, 68 died and 417 are active cases.

38 in Jalpaiguri: 

1 death, 38 new cases, 95 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 38 new cases, 13785 confirmed cases of which 151 died while 13121 have recovered and 513 are active cases.

58 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 58 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 6 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 2 in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and no patients in Surgical isolation ward and in Isolation ward -1.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 36 Covid-19 patients are admitted,  during the last 24 hours 4 patients are newly admitted and 7 are released.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 21 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 10 patients are newly admitted, 5 are released.
