1 death (of Siliguri); 10 of Hills (8 of Kalimpong and 2 of Darjeeling), 11 of SMC, 23 of GTA area infected

51 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 10 in Kalimpong, 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari. Of the plains they are- 1 in Naxalbari, 2 in Matigara, tested positive. 

15 in Malda, 12 in Alipurduar, 5 in Coochbehar, 67 in Jalpaiguri and tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 23 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

1 Death: 

Ajay Kumar Kundu, 65 yr old of Hakimpara died in a nursing home of Sevoke Road. He had a stroke and tested positive after admission in the hospital.

11 in SMC:

11 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (6 in Darjeeling and 5 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

14 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 14 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 5 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 3 is from the Darjeeling hills - 2 in Darjeeling Municipality,. Of the plains they are- 1 in Sukuna, 1 in Naxalbari, 4 in Matigara tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 54 new cases,17422 confirmed cases of which 16729 have recovered and 196 died while 497 are active cases.

8 in Kalimpong:

8 new cases, 13 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 8 new cases, 2114 confirmed cases of which 2034 have recovered, 23 died and 57 are active cases.

15 in Malda:  

15 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 30 new cases, 12335 confirmed cases of which 11867 have recovered and 109 died and 359 are active cases.

12 in Alipurduar:

12 new cases, 7 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 2 new cases, 7583 confirmed cases of which 7441 have recovered and 85 died while 57 are active cases.

5 in Coochbehar: 

5 new cases, 10 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 25 new cases, 11525 confirmed cases of which 11075 have recovered, 70 died and 380 are active cases.

67 in Jalpaiguri: 

67 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 47 new cases, 14104 confirmed cases of which 155 died while 13500 have recovered and 449 are active cases.

51 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 51 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 4 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 2 patients are admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 1 in Surgical isolation ward  and 1 in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and no patients inIsolation ward -1.

1 of Tindharia –total 1 of GTA area are admitted. 

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 16 Covid-19 patients are admitted, during the last 24 hours 1 patient is newly admitted and 1 released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of Hooker Road Darjeeling, Rohini TE Kurseong and Singbulli Mirik 3 of GTA area is admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 18 Covid-19 patients are admitted and nil patients are newly admitted, 8  released.

1  of Rohini TE  total 1 of GTA area admitted.

Nil of GTA admitted.

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 326 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 513 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 839.

There are 5 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 14 in GTA area and 4 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, nil in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 23 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
