1 of Jalpaiguri dies; 9 of Hills (5 of Kalimpong and 4 of Darjeeling), 22 of SMC, infected

67 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 5 in Kalimpong, 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Pulbazar, 2 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 4 in Sukuna, 2 in Phansidewa 1 in Naxalbari, 5 in Matigara tested positive. 

9 in Malda, 2 in Alipurduar, 9 in Coochbehar, 47 in Jalpaiguri and tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 24 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

1 Death: 

Pulakesh Sarkar, 78 yr old of Kiranipara Japaiguri died in a nursing home of Sevoke Road.

22 in SMC:

22 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (21 in Darjeeling and 1 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

35 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 35 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 21 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 4 is from the Darjeeling hills - 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Pulbazar, 2 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 4 in Sukuna, 2 in Phansidewa 1 in Naxalbari, 5 in Matigara tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 52 new cases,17474 confirmed cases of which 16801 have recovered and 196 died while 477 are active cases.

5 in Kalimpong:

5 new cases (all in home quarantine), 13 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 5 new cases, 2119 confirmed cases of which 2043 have recovered, 23 died and 53 are active cases..

9 in Malda:  

9 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 23 new cases, 12358 confirmed cases of which 11895 have recovered and 109 died and 354 are active cases.

2 in Alipurduar:

2 new cases, 12 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 10 new cases, 7593 confirmed cases of which 7450 have recovered and 85 died while 58 are active cases.9 in Coochbehar: 9 new cases, 12 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 21 new cases, 11546 confirmed cases of which 11104 have recovered, 70 died and 372 are active cases.

47 in Jalpaiguri: 

1 death, 47 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 46 new cases, 14150 confirmed cases of which 155 died while 13558 have recovered and 437 are active cases.

67 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 67 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 5 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 2 patients are admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 1 in Surgical isolation ward  and 2 in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and no patients inIsolation ward -1.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 16 Covid-19 patients are admitted, during the last 24 hours 9 patients are admitted in ICU, 1 patient is newly admitted and 1 are released.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 17 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 1 patient are newly admitted, 2  released.
