51 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 10 in Kalimpong, 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari. Of the plains they are- 1 in Naxalbari, 2 in Matigara, tested positive. 

4 in Malda, 17 in Alipurduar, 11 in Coochbehar, 67 in Jalpaiguri and tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 22 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

1 Death: 

Dr Swaran Das Gupta, 67 yr old medical practitioner of Jalpaiguri died in a nursing home of Sevoke Road.

14 in SMC:

14 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (10 in Darjeeling and 4 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

16 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 16 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 10 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 3 is from the Darjeeling hills - 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari. Of the plains they are- 1 in Naxalbari, 2 in Matigara, tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 55 new cases,17368 confirmed cases of which 16650 have recovered and 196 died while 522 are active cases.

20 in Kalimpong:

20 new cases (12 are in quarantine and 8 admitted), 13 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 20 new cases, 2106 confirmed cases of which 2022 have recovered, 23 died and 61 are active cases.

4 in Malda:  

4 new cases, 27 release reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 27 new cases, 12305 confirmed cases of which 11836 have recovered and 109 died and 360 are active cases.

17 in Alipurduar:

17 new cases, 16 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 12 new cases, 7581 confirmed cases of which 7429 have recovered and 85 died while 67 are active cases.

11 in Coochbehar: 

11 new cases reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 46 new cases, 11500 confirmed cases of which 11041 have recovered, 69 died and 390 are active cases.

67 in Jalpaiguri: 

67 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 67 new cases, 14057 confirmed cases of which 154 died while 13443 have recovered and 460 are active cases.

51 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 51 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today.

During the last 24 hours 3 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 1 patient each  are admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, in Surgical isolation ward  and in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and no patients inIsolation ward -1.

1 each of Tindharia, Teesta Valley–total 2 of GTA area are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 16 Covid-19 patients are admitted,  during the last 24 hours 1 patient is newly admitted and 3 are released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of Hooker Road Darjeeling, Rock Garden Dali and Singbulli Darjeeling 3 of GTA area is admitted.

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 26 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 2 patients are newly admitted, nil  released.
