40 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 8 in Kalimpong, 1 in Darjeeling Municipality. Of the plains they are-1 in Matigara, 1 in Naxalbari tested positive.
12 in Malda, 11 in Alipurduar, 7 in Coochbehar, 87 in Jalpaiguri and tested positive.
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 18 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:-
1 Death:
Chanda Mardi, 83 yr old of Islampur died in a Nursing Home at Sevoke Road.
13 in SMC:
13 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (9 in Darjeeling and 4 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive.
12 in Darjeeling district:
Of the 12 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 9 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 1 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 1 in Darjeeling Municipality. Of the plains they are-1 in Matigara, 1 in Naxalbari tested positive.
2 in Sukuna, 3 in Khoribari, 1 in Phansidewa and 1 in Takdah, 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, , 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Pulbazar, 1 in Mirik
State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 42 new cases,17081 confirmed cases of which 16299 have recovered and 195 died while 587 are active cases.
8 in Kalimpong:
8 new cases from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 5 new cases, 2047 confirmed cases of which 1977 have recovered, 23 died and 47 are active cases.
21 in Malda:
21 new cases, reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 28 new cases, 12190 confirmed cases of which 11693 have recovered and 109 died and 388 are active cases.
11 in Alipurduar:
11 new cases, 15 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 20 new cases, 7528 confirmed cases of which 7370 have recovered and 85 died while 73 are active cases.
7 in Coochbehar:
7 new cases, 12 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 30 new cases, 11382 confirmed cases of which 10907 have recovered, 68 died and 407 are active cases.
14 in Jalpaiguri:
1 death, 84 new cases, 87 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 51 new cases, 13836 confirmed cases of which 152 died while 13217 have recovered and 467 are active cases.
40 Discharged:
After testing negative and recovery 40 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today.
NBMCH
During the last 24 hours 5 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 5 patients admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, nil in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and no patients in Surgical isolation ward and in Isolation ward -1.
1 of Tindharia and 1 of Fagu Gorubathan Kalimpong–total 2 of GTA area are admitted.
DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital
At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 21 Covid-19 patients are admitted, during the last 24 hours no patients are newly admitted and 3 are released.
At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of M. V. Road Kurseong, Mahanadi Kurseong, Makaibari Kurseong, Rohinif Malutar Kurseong, total 1 of GTA area is admitted.
DESUN Covid Hospital
In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 28 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 10 patients are newly admitted, 3 are released.
1 each of Rohini Kurseong and Gr Grahm’s Homes Kalimpong, total 2 of GTA area admitted.

2 of Kurseong of GTA admitted.

8 patients of Darjeeling and 11 from Kalimpong are admitted, 1 released in this hospital.

2 asymptomatic Covid patients of Darjeeling are being treated here.

1 asymptomatic Covid patients of Kalimpong district are admitted and being treated here.

Nil asymptomatic Covid patients of Kalimpong are being treated here.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES
The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 326 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 531 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 857.
There are 5 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 19 in GTA area and 2 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 3 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 29 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
Number of Covid patients in the six districts of North Bengal
