1 death; 33 of Hills (27 of Kalimpong and 6 of Darjeeling), 54 of SMC, 55 of GTA area infected

104 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 16 in Kalimpong, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Mirik, 1 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 3 in Sukuna, 23 in Matigara, 1 in Khoribari, 8 in Naxalbari tested positive. 20 in Alipurduar, 39 in Coochbehar, 144 in Jalpaiguri and 44 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 4 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

1 Death: 

Jyotia Devi, 90 yr old of Middle Sherpa Busty Kurseong died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital. 

54 in SMC:

54 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (22 in Darjeeling and 34 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

65 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 65 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 22 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 6 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Mirik, 1 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 3 in Sukuna, 23 in Matigara, 1 in Khoribari, 8 in Naxalbari tested positive.  

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 134 new cases,15856 confirmed cases of which 14789 have recovered and 187 died while 880 are active cases.

27 in Kalimpong:

27 new cases, 11 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 27 new cases, 1866 confirmed cases of which 1764 have recovered, 22 died and 80 are active cases.

44 in Malda:  

44 new cases, 39 release reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 44 new cases, 11672 confirmed cases of which 11198 have recovered and 104 died and 370 are active cases.

20 in Alipurduar:

20 new cases, 27 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 20 new cases, 7310 confirmed cases of which 7141 have recovered and 84 died while 85 are active cases.

39 in Coochbehar: 

39 new cases, 35 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 57 new cases, 10831 confirmed cases of which 10323 have recovered, 65 died and 443 are active cases.

144 in Jalpaiguri: 

1 death, 144 new cases, 92 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 144 new cases, 12878 confirmed cases of which 137 died while 11851 have recovered and 890 are active cases.

104 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 104 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 28 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 11 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 13in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 4 patients in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 each of Pulbazar,  Takdah, Belgachi and Fagu Gorubathan, Kalimpong–total 5 of GTA area are admitted.

 

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 71 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 21 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 3 patients are newly admitted and 6 are released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Ghayabari Kurseong, Sudhapatol Kurseong, Singell TE Kurseong, Simulbari, Dr. Zakir Hussain Busty, NB Sing Road Darjeeling, North Point Singmari, Rashik gram Darjeeling, and 29th Mile Kalimpong GTA area (9) are admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 51 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 4 patients are newly admitted, 8 are released.

1 each of Nandalal Gaon Mirik, MP Road Darjeeling, Reserve forest Mungpoo, Samsing of GTA area (4) are admitted.

SILIGURI INDOOR STADIUM

1 each from Mirik and Shantigram admitted.

TRIBENI Covid Hospital 

9 patients of Darjeeling and 23 from Kalimpong are admitted, 1 referred out in this hospital. 

BATASIA TB HOSPITAL SAFE HOME

1 asymptomatic Covid patients of Darjeeling are being treated here.

FARMERS TRAINING CENTRE PEDONG

1 asymptomatic Covid patients of Kalimpong district are admitted and being treated here.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 311 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 561 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 872.

There are 18 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 33 in GTA area and 2 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 55 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
