No death; 28 of Hills (14 of Kalimpong and 14 of Darjeeling), 56 of SMC infected

99 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 14 in Kalimpong, 5 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Pulbazar, 3 in Mirik and 1 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 3 in Sukuna, 3 in Khoribari, 13 in Matigara, 11 in Naxalbari, and 2 in Phansidewa tested positive. 64 in Alipurduar, 48 in Coochbehar, 135 in Jalpaiguri and 90 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 17 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

Nil Death: No death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district.

Yesterday during the last 48 hours 3 died and they were-

Nirmala Tamang, 61 yr old of Kurseong;

Sapan Chattopadhyay, 58 yr old of Banarhat Jalpaiguri died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

Amalendu Kundu, 65 yr old of Sarkar Sarani Hakimpara died in Desun Covid Hospital

56 of SMC:

56 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (39 in Darjeeling and 17 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

85 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 85 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 39 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 14 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 5 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Pulbazar, 3 in Mirik and 1 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 3 in Sukuna, 3 in Khoribari, 13 in Matigara, 11 in Naxalbari, and 2 in Phansidewa tested positive.

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 167 new cases, 13864 confirmed cases of which 12832 have recovered and 161 died while 871 are active cases.

14 in Kalimpong:

14 new cases, 11 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 14 new cases, 1643 confirmed cases of which 1582 have recovered, 19 died and 42 are active cases.

90 in Malda:  

2 death, 90 new case, 86 release reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 90 new cases, 10905 confirmed cases of which 10357 have recovered and 94 died and 454 are active cases.

64 in Alipurduar:

64 new cases, 39 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 64 new cases, 6977 confirmed cases of which 6734 have recovered and 80 died while 163 are active cases.

48 in Coochbehar: 

48 new cases with 54 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 53 new cases, 9986 confirmed cases of which 9450 have recovered, 57 died and 479 are active cases.

135 in Jalpaiguri: 

2 death, 135 new cases, 212 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 135 new cases, 11067 confirmed cases of which 114 died while 10188 have recovered and 765 are active cases.

99 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 99 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 22 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 12 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 7 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 4 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s  SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 80 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 20 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 14 patients are newly admitted and 3 are released. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 80 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 6 patients are newly admitted, nil are released.

Today’s daily state bulletin regarding the report of the last 24 hrs stated that Darjeeling district records 167 new cases, 13864 confirmed cases of which 12832 have recovered and 161 died while 871 are active cases.

Similarly Kalimpong district records 14 new cases, 1643 confirmed cases of which 1582 have recovered, 19 died and 42 are active cases.

Alipurduar records 64 new cases, 6977 confirmed cases of which 6734 have recovered and 80 died while 163 are active cases.
