5 death; 33 of Hills (13 of Kalimpong and 20 of Darjeeling), 59 of SMC, 57 of GTA area infected

133 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 13 in Kalimpong, 4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 8 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 Sukhiapokhari, 1 in Pulbazar, 4 in Mirik and 2 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 1 in Sukuna, 4 in Khoribari, 10 in Matigara, 6 in Naxalbari, and 2 in Phansidewa tested positive. 22 in Alipurduar, 56 in Coochbehar, 85 in Jalpaiguri and 58 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 20 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

5 Death: 

5 death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district. They are-

Devsing Thapa, 55 yr old of School Danra- Sepoy Dhura- Tung Kurseong died in Desun Covid Hospital.

Anup kumar Basu, 77 yr old of Hakimpara;

Santana Dey, 68 yr old of Bhaktinagar;

Md Nur Alam, 60 yr old of Bhanubhakta Sarani -Gurung Busty died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

Kailashkanti Kewat, 65 yr old of Malbazar died in a Nursing Home at Sevoke Road

59 of SMC:

59 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (44 in Darjeeling and 15 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

 

87 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 87 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 39 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 20 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 8 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 Sukhiapokhari, 1 in Pulbazar, 4 in Mirik and 2 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 1 in Sukuna, 4 in Khoribari, 10 in Matigara, 6 in Naxalbari, and 2 in Phansidewa tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 104 new cases, 14244 confirmed cases of which 13316 have recovered and 168 died while 760 are active cases.

13 in Kalimpong:

13 new cases, 16 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 13 new cases, 1677 confirmed cases of which 1619 have recovered, 19 died and 39 are active cases.

58 in Malda:  

1 death, 58 new case, 49 release  reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 58 new cases, 11058 confirmed cases of which 10593 have recovered and 95 died and 370 are active cases.

 

22 in Alipurduar:

22 new cases, 34 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 22 new cases, 7022 confirmed cases of which 6832 have recovered and 80 died while 110 are active cases.

56 in Coochbehar: 

56 new cases, 69 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 56 new cases, 10148 confirmed cases of which 9796 have recovered, 57 died and 295 are active cases.

85 in Jalpaiguri: 

2 death, 85 new cases 137 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 85 new cases, 11464 confirmed cases of which 120 died while 10639 have recovered and 705 are active cases.

133 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 133 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 27 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 13 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 12 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 2 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 of Lopchu T.G., 1 of Redhead TG Ghoom  and 1 of Dalpchand Kalimpong –total 3 of GTA area are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s  SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 78 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 20 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 11 patients are newly admitted and 11 are released.

At Dr.Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Marybong TG, Kurseong, Lower Dumaram, PV Road Kurseong, Krishnanagar Mirik, Mirik Busty, Bijanbari, Reshab Dhura Rangli, 2 each of Phuguri Mirik, Jowahar Busty Toongsoong Darjeeling, Kagjhora Darjeeling and Upper Pradhan gaon Kalimpong, and Bong Busty Kalimpong, ICICI Bank Kalimpong GTA area (16) are admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 72 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 7 patients are newly admitted, 9 are released.

1 each of Sibitar T.E Kurseong, Singel T.E, Makaibari,  Simulbari TE, Bijanbari and Sonada of GTA area (6) are admitted.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 534 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 607 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1141.

There are 25 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 24 in GTA area and 4 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 4 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 57 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
