5 death; 31 of Hills (16 of Kalimpong and 15 of Darjeeling), 48 of SMC, 48 of GTA area infected

97 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 26 in Kalimpong, 4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 8 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Mirik, 1 in Pulbazar, 1 in Takdah,. Of the plains they are- 6 in Sukuna, 1 in Khoribari, 17 in Matigara, 8 in Naxalbari, and 5 in Phansidewa tested positive. 22 in Alipurduar, 22 in Coochbehar, 42 in Jalpaiguri and 33 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 28 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

5 Death: 

5 death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district. 

Tulasa Tamang, 43 yr old of Pradhan Gaon Kalimpong (admitted on 14 Nov) died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

Bandhan Kujur, 80 yr old of Ward no 2 Nivedita Road Siliguri; 

Laxmi Lama, 84 yr old of Deorali Chimney Busty Kurseong; 

Kamal Rai, 50 yr old of Rajadanga Mal Bazar died in Desun Covid Hospital

Sarojini Roy, 65 yr old of Ward no 41, Jyotinagar Siliguri died (was suffering from ARDS -Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) in a Nursing Home at Sevoke Road.

48 of SMC:

48 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (27 in Darjeeling and 21 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

79 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 79 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 27 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 15 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 8 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Takdah, 1 in Pulbazar, 1 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 6 in Sukuna, 1 in Khoribari, 17 in Matigara, 8 in Naxalbari, and 5 in Phansidewa tested positive.  and., in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Takdah

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 114 new cases,15177 confirmed cases of which 14197 have recovered and 179 died while 801 are active cases.

16 in Kalimpong:

1 death (43 yr old Tulasa Tamang of Pradhan Gaon Kalimpong died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital, his death is 25th death), 16 new cases from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 16 new cases, 1780 confirmed cases of which 1685 have recovered, 21 died and 74 are active cases.

33 in Malda:  

33 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 49 new cases, 11364 confirmed cases of which 10973 have recovered and 97 died and 294 are active cases.

22 in Alipurduar:

1 death, 22 new cases, 21 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 14 new cases, 7187 confirmed cases of which 7022 have recovered and 83 died while 82 are active cases.

22 in Coochbehar: 

22 new cases, 62 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 19 new cases, 10501 confirmed cases of which 10145 have recovered, 63 died and 293 are active cases.

42 in Jalpaiguri: 

42 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 76 new cases, 12230 confirmed cases of which 132 died while 11503 have recovered and 595 are active cases.

97 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 97 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 23 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 6 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 12 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 5 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 each of Ambotia ,Pankhabari Kurseong, Pulbazar and 1 of Fagu Gorubathan–total 4 of GTA area are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 71 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 21 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 3 patients are newly admitted and 6 are released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Nayabazar Kurseong, Ghayabari, Singel TE, Simulbari, Jawaharbusty, NB Sing Road, Mahendra gaon Mirik, Mirik Busty, and ICICI Bank Kalimpong GTA area (9) are admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 76 (out of 100 bed) Covid-19 patients are admitted and 3 patients are newly admitted, 9 is released.

1 each of Sudhapa Tol Kurseong, Nandalal Gaon Mirik, Mahendra gaon, Upper Doomaram, MP Road Darjeeling, Reserve forest Mungpoo of GTA area (7) are admitted. 

SILIGURI INDOOR STADIUM

1 each from Mirik and Shantigram,admitted.

GTA

TRIBENI Covid Hospital 

10 patients of Darjeeling and 16 from Kalimpong are admitted in this hospital. 

DISHA SAFE HOME

7 asymptomatic Covid patients of Kalimpong district are admitted and being treated here.

FARMERS TRAINING CENTRE PEDONG

4 asymptomatic Covid patients of Kalimpong district are admitted and being treated here.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 534 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 578 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1112.

There are 19 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 26 in GTA area and 11 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 48 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.

Today’s daily state bulletin regarding the report of the last 24 hrs stated that Darjeeling district records 114 new cases,15177 confirmed cases of which 14197 have recovered and 179 died while 801 are active cases.
