5 death (2 each of Kalimpong and Siliguri), 29 of Hills (12 of Kalimpong and 17 of Darjeeling), 106 of SMC infected, 73 Active cases in GTA

84 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 11 in Kalimpong, - 6 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Mirik and 3 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 5 in Sukuna, 3 in Khoribari,  22 in Matigara, 15 in Naxalbari, and 8 in Phansidewa tested positive. 34 in Alipurduar, 101 in Coochbehar, 102 in Jalpaiguri, 54 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 5 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

5 Death: 5 deaths reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district.

Shanta Tamang,  54 yr old of Sindebong Kalimpong;

Bir Bahadur Rai, 58 yr old of Maurey Fari Kumai (referred from Tribeni Covid Hospital); and

Kalyan Kumar Deb, 82 yr old of Rabindranagar Siliguri (admitted on 21 October) died in Desun Covid Hospital.

Devendra Rajak, 69 yr old of Santoshinagar Siliguri died in in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

Krishna Wari, 45 yr old of  Kokrajhar, Assam died in a private Nursing Home. 

106 of SMC:

106 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (89 of Darjeeling and 17 of Jalpaiguri district) tested positive.  

156 in Darjeeling district:

Of the  156 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 55 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 30 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 6 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Mirik and 3 in Takdah. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district with 136 new cases has 12187 confirmed cases of which 10634 have recovered and 143 died while 1410 are active cases. 

12 in Kalimpong: 

2 died, 12 new cases from Kalimpong is reported. Including the 2 deaths of today, death toll in Kalimpong district due to Covid -19 is 20 though the state government’s official bulletin records 17 deaths. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours  Kalimpong district with 11 new cases has 1480 confirmed cases of which 1387 have recovered, 15 died and 78 are active cases. 

54 in Malda: 

54 new cases, 10 release reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda with 54 new cases has 10200 confirmed cases of which 9046 have recovered and 88 died and 1066 are active cases.

34 in Alipurduar:

34 new cases, 46 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar with 34 new cases has 6550 confirmed cases of which 6233 have recovered and 77 died while 240 are active cases. 

101 in Coochbehar: 

101 new cases with 102 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last24 hours Coochbehar with 85 new cases has 9037 confirmed cases of which 8026 have recovered, 54 died and 957 are active cases. 

102 in Jalpaiguri: 

102 new cases, 66 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri with 102 new cases has 9582 confirmed cases of which 92 died while 8427 have recovered and 1063 are active cases. 

84 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 84 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 21 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 9 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 9 in Female -Gynecological Isolation ward, 3 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 74 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 19 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 8 patients are newly admitted and 4 are released.

At Dr.Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Singel TE, Bhotay Busty Darjeeling, Ging, Ava Art Gallery, 1 of Ujjaray Busty Kurseong, Mungpoo, Kurseong, Makaibari, Tamsang Khasmahal, St. Mary’s Hill, Dowhill, Kharey Kurseong, Dudhia, Marybong TG, North Point Darjeeling and Jholung GTA area are admitted.

Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 77 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 8 patients are newly admitted, 1 are released.

1 each of Paren Jaldhaka, Sindebong Kalimpong and 10^th Mile Kalimpong of GTA area are admitted. 

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

55 patients are admitted of which 13 are in ICU and are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 32 are Covid patients. 7 patients are released.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES
The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 648 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 641 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1289.

There are 20 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital outside GTA area, 34 in GTA area and 17 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 73 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
