4 death; 34 of Hills (16 of Kalimpong and 18 of Darjeeling), 68 of SMC, 55 of GTA area infected

130 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 16 in Kalimpong, 2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 7 in Mirik, 3 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 8 in Sukuna, 3 in Khoribari, 15 in Matigara, 6 in Naxalbari, and 1 in Phansidewa tested positive. 13 in Alipurduar, 38 in Coochbehar, 21 in Jalpaiguri and 26 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 26 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

4 Death: 4 deaths reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district.

Shova Rani Saha, 90 yr old of Bidhyachakra Colony Sevoke Road Siliguri;

Shankari Basak, 65 yr old male of Ward no. 1 Mathabhanga Coochbehar died in Desun Covid Hospital

Gambhir Chhetri, 93 yr old of Sukuna died in a Nursing Home at Sevoke Road.

Pradipta Behra, 44 yr old of Indira Palli Medical More Matigara died at his residence.

All 4 had co-morbidities.

68 of SMC:

68 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (50 in Darjeeling and 18 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

101 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 101 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 50 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 18 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 7 in Mirik, 3 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 8 in Sukuna, 3 in Khoribari, 15 in Matigara, 6 in Naxalbari, and 1 in Phansidewa tested positive.  

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 129 new cases, 14961 confirmed cases of which 13984 have recovered and 176 died while 801are active cases.

16 in Kalimpong:

16 new cases from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 24 new cases, 1756 confirmed cases of which 1664 have recovered, 20 died and 72 are active cases.

26 in Malda: 

26 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 35 new cases, 11273 confirmed cases of which 10908 have recovered and 97 died and 268 are active cases.

13 in Alipurduar:

13 new cases reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 20 new cases, 7151confirmed cases of which 6986 have recovered and 84 died while 85 are active cases.

38 in Coochbehar: 

38 new cases reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 48 new cases, 10451 confirmed cases of which 10096 have recovered, 61 died and 294 are active cases.

21 in Jalpaiguri: 

1 death, 21 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 87 new cases, 12067 confirmed cases of which 129 died while 11336 have recovered and 602 are active cases.

130 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 130 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 23 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 8 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 12 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 3 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward I are admitted.

1 each of Lopchu T.G., Rangli Rangliot, Lowis Jubilee Darjeeling, Pubung Kalimpong and Dalapchand Kalimpong –total 5 of GTA area are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s  SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 71 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 21 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 3 patients are newly admitted and 6 are released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Marybong TE, Nayabazar Kurseong, Lower Dumaram, Ghayabari, Singel TE, Kurseong, Naya Bazar Kurseong, Methibari, Simulbari, Chhota Kagjhora, Jawaharbusty, NB Sing Road, Phuguri, Pratap gaon, Krishna Nagar Mirik, Mahendra gaon Mirik, Mirik Busty, and Upper Pradhan gaon Kalimpong, and ICICI Bank Kalimpong GTA area (12) are admitted.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 93 (out of 100 bed) Covid-19 patients are admitted and 10 patients are newly admitted while 7 are released.

1 each of MV Road Kurseong, Nanthala Gaon, Mahendra gaon, Chimney gaon Mirik, Sibitar TE, Sepoydhura, Upper Doomaram, Simal TE of GTA area (7) are admitted.

8 patients of Darjeeling and 12 from Kalimpong are admitted in this hospital.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 613 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 581 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1294.

There are 24 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 20 in GTA area and 9 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 55 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
