3 death; 12 of Hills (6 of Kalimpong and 6 of Darjeeling), 40 of SMC, 63 of GTA area infected

61 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 6 in Kalimpong, 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Mirik and 1 in Pulbazar, 1 in Sukhiapokhari. Of the plains they are- 3 in Sukuna, 5 in Khoribari, 9 in Matigara, 8 in Naxalbari, and 5 in Phansidewa tested positive. 10 in Alipurduar, 37 in Coochbehar, 85 in Jalpaiguri and 20 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 24 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

3 Death: 

3 death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district. They are-

Hari Kumar Subba, 74 yr old of Nagarifarm T E  Sukhiapokhari died (admitted on 21 November in NBMCH);

Jagadish Das, 70 yr old of Ward No. 9 Dhupguri (admitted on 14 November in NBMCH) died in Desun Covid Hospital;

one patient died in Tribeni Covid Hospital.

40 of SMC:

40 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (25 in Darjeeling and 15 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

61 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 61 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 25 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 6 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Mirik and 1 in Pulbazar, 1 in Sukhiapokhari. Of the plains they are- 3 in Sukuna, 5 in Khoribari, 9 in Matigara, 8 in Naxalbari, and 5 in Phansidewa tested positive. 4 in Kurseong Municipality,  1 in Takdah

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 83 new cases, 14682 confirmed cases of which 13781 have recovered and 175 died while 726 are active cases.

Gautam Deb, Tourism Minister tested negative after 18 days of hospitalization and repeated tests.

6 in Kalimpong:

1 death, 6 new cases from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 6 new cases, 1714 confirmed cases of which 1651 have recovered, 20 died and 43 are active cases.

20 in Malda: 

20 new case reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 53 new cases, 11212 confirmed cases of which 10808 have recovered and 95 died and 309 are active cases.

10 in Alipurduar:

10 new cases, 12 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 29 new cases, 7118 confirmed cases of which 6938 have recovered and 81 died while 99 are active cases.

37 in Coochbehar: 

37 new cases reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 51 new cases, 10363 confirmed cases of which 10026 have recovered, 60 died and 277 are active cases.

85 in Jalpaiguri: 

1 death, 18 new cases 137 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 133 new cases, 11902 confirmed cases of which 126 died while 11051 have recovered and 725 are active cases.

61 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 61 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 23 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 8 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 12 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 3 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 each of Lopchu T.G., Redhead TG Ghoom and Pubung Kalimpong and Dalapchand Kalimpong –total 4 of GTA area are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s  SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 66 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 22 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 9 patients are newly admitted and 9 are released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Lower Dumaram, Ghayabari Kurseong, Mirik Busty, Phuguri Mirik, Jowahar Busty Toongsoong Darjeeling, Singell TE , Simulbari and Upper Pradhan gaon Kalimpong, and Bong Busty Kalimpong, ICICI Bank Kalimpong GTA area (10) are admitted.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 93 (out of 100 bed) Covid-19 patients are admitted and 10 patients are newly admitted, 1 is released.

1 each of Singel T.E, Simulbari TE, Sonada, Deorali Kurseong, Upper Doomaram, MP Road Kurseong, Reserve Forest Mungpoo of GTA area (7) are admitted.

1 each of Mirik, Kurseong  GTA admitted.

1 from Mirik and 1 of Shantigram Kurseong admitted.

1 died, 11 patients of Darjeeling and 19 from Kalimpong are admitted, 2 released in this hospital.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 534 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 591 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1125.

There are 21 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 30 in GTA area and 8 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 4 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 63 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
