1 death; 21 of Hills (11 of Kalimpong and 10 of Darjeeling), 46 of SMC, 48 of GTA area infected

65 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 11 in Kalimpong, 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 3 in Pulbazar, 2 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 11 in Sukuna, 1 in Khoribari, 10 in Matigara, 9 in Naxalbari, and 6 in Phansidewa tested positive. 24 in Alipurduar, 21 in Coochbehar, 42 in Jalpaiguri and 25 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 27 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

1 Death: 1 death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district. 

Pradipta Kishore Behra, 44 yr old of Brahmangunj Orissa residing at Shiv Mandir Siliguri died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

46 of SMC:

46 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (40 in Darjeeling and 6 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

87 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 87 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district4 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 10 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 3 in Pulbazar, 2 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 11 in Sukuna, 1 in Khoribari, 10 in Matigara, 9 in Naxalbari, and 6 in Phansidewa tested positive.  and., in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Takdah

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 102 new cases, 15063 confirmed cases of which 14081 have recovered and 177 died while 805 are active cases.

11 in Kalimpong:

11 new cases, 7 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 8 new cases, 1764 confirmed cases of which 1671 have recovered, 20 died and 73 are active cases.

25 in Malda:  

25 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 42 new cases, 11315 confirmed cases of which 10945 have recovered and 97 died and 273 are active cases.

24 in Alipurduar:

24 new cases reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 22 new cases, 7173confirmed cases of which 6997 have recovered and 82 died while 94 are active cases.

21 in Coochbehar: 

21 new cases, 46 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 31 new cases, 10482 confirmed cases of which 10121 have recovered, 621 died and 299 are active cases.

42 in Jalpaiguri: 

42 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 87 new cases, 12154 confirmed cases of which 130 died while 11415 have recovered and 609 are active cases.

65 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 65 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 23 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 8 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 12 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 3 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 each of Lopchu T.G.,  Kurseong, Lowis Jubilee Darjeeling, Pubung Kalimpong and Dalapchand Kalimpong and 2 of Fagu Gorubathan–total 8 of GTA area are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s  SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 71 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 21 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 3 patients are newly admitted and 6 are released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Nayabazar Kurseong, Ghayabari, Singel TE, Simulbari, Jawaharbusty, NB Sing Road, Mahendra gaon Mirik, Mirik Busty, and Upper Pradhan gaon Kalimpong, and ICICI Bank Kalimpong GTA area (10) are admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 93 (out of 100 bed) Covid-19 patients are admitted and 10 patients are newly admitted, 7 is released.

1 each of MV Road Kurseong, Nanthala Gaon, Mahendra gaon, Chimney gaon Mirik, Upper Doomaram, MP Road Darjeeling, Rangli Rangliot of GTA area (7) are admitted.

Nil of  GTA admitted.

1 each from Mirik and Shantigram,admitted.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 613 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 581 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1294.

There are 25 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 12 in GTA area and 9 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 48 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
