India records 48,268 new coronavirus cases, pushing tally to near 81.4 lakh
India recorded nation's tally of coronavirus cases on Friday, to 81,37,119. Also, 551 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The country's toll now stands at 1,21,641.
IT, New Delhi, October 31, 2020 : India recorded 48,268 new coronavirus cases on Friday, taking the nation's tally to 81,37,119, the Union health ministry said on Saturday.

Meanwhile, there are 5,82,649 active Covid-19 cases in India after a decrease of 11,737 in the last 24 hours. Total cured cases are at 74,32,829 with 59,454 new discharges in a day.
On Friday, Delhi reported 5,891 new Covid-19 cases, 4,433 recoveries and 47 deaths. Total cases in the national capital now stands at 3,81,644 including 3,42,811 recoveries, 32,363 active cases and 6,470 deaths, according to the Delhi health bulletin.
Maharashtra reported 6,190 Covid-19 cases on Friday, pushing the state's tally to 16,72,858.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday saluted all corona warriors in the country for their contribution in fighting the deadly virus.
While stressing on the fact that the fight against Covid-19 is not yet over, he praised India's fight against the contagion. "130 crore Indians together honoured the Covid-19 warriors in their fight against this pandemic. The way the country has proved its collective potential during this time is unprecedented," PM Modi said.
Meanwhile, the government of India asked states to constitute committees for coordination and overseeing Covid-19 vaccination drive while ensuring minimal disruptions in other routine healthcare services. These committees will also carry out stressed early tracking of social media to dispel rumours which could impact the community acceptance of coronavirus inoculation.
