BDO of Darjeeling working in Sitalkuchi and 3 youths of 30 yrs died of Covid-19

6 death (1 each of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Coochbehar and 3 of Siliguri), 42 of Hills (19 of Kalimpong and 23 of Darjeeling), 81 of SMC tested positive:

77 recovered from Covid-19,  Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 19 of Kalimpong, 11 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Sukhiapokhari, 4 in Pulbazar, 1 in Takdah and 1 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 5 in Sukuna, 28 in Matigara, 20 in Naxalbari, 4 in Phansidewa and 4 in Khoribari, 42 in Alipurduar, 108 in Jalpaiguri, 119 in Coochbehar, 114 in Malda tested positive.

6 Death: 

6 deaths reported during the last 24 hours in Covid hospitals of Darjeeling district.

Wangdi Gyalpo Bhutia, 54 yr, BDO Sitalkuchi Coochbehar, a resident of Coochbehar Road Darjeeling died in a Non Government hospital at Matigara (he was fighting the virus since some days); 

Rohit Golyan, 74 yr old of Kalimpong; 

Subhasis Saha, 30 yr old of Mathabhanga Coochbehar, and

Rublar Singha, 30 yr old of Matigara died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital (Admitted on 5 Oct)

Pradip Ghose, 63 yr old of Laketown Siliguri  and  

Subodh Sarkar, 30 yr old of Shantipara -NJP Bhaktinagar died in RICU ward of NBMCH.

81 of SMC:

81 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (50 in Darjeeling and 31 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

 

134 of Darjeeling district:

Of the 134 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 50 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 23 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 11 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Sukhiapokhari, 4 in Pulbazar, 1 in Takdah and 1 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 5 in Sukuna, 28 in Matigara, 20 in Naxalbari, 4 in Phansidewa and 4 in Khoribari, tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district with 110 new cases has 10214 confirmed cases of which 8924 have recovered and 132 died while 1158 are active cases. 

 

Kalimpong: 

Rohit Golyan, 74 yr old of Kalimpong died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital  during the last 24 hours. His death is 13th of the district.  

Earlier Mita Das of Kalimpong died on 16th October in the same hospital and her death is recorded as 12^th death of the district though Health departments's daily bulletin stated it to be eleventh death.

The first Covid death was of Sunita Devi (44yr) of Kalimpong Town. She was admitted on 26th March at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital and on 28th she tested positive to Covid 19 but died on 30th March. Her death was the first death of North Bengal too that panicked the entire area. 

The second death was of Umamati Devi (55 yr) of Sombaray Bazar Gorubathan who died on 13 July.  Narmaya Biswakarma (73 yr) of Teesta, the third patient to die of Covid-19 died on 19 August. Her test result of positive declaration came only after her death and cremation. 

The fourth death was of Joseph Dahal (53 yr) of 6th Mile who died on 21 August while the fifth patient, Ghanashyam Basur (64 yr) of Harijan Road died on 23 August. 

The sixth victim Anugrah Lepcha, 50 yr of Thakurbari who was admitted at District hospital Kalimpong and was referred to Siliguri but died on the way to hospital on 11 September 2020. She had tested Covid positive and had heart related ailment. 

Rabin Rai, 70 yr of Bagdhara, admitted on 19 September in Desun Covid Hospital  died on 21 Sept. His death was seventh of the district. 

Jay Prakash Gupta, 44 yr of Ongden Road and Punya Prasad Rai, 51 yr of 10th Mile Kalimpong died in NBMCH on 22 Sep at Dr. Chhang’s Covid Hospital and they were the 8th and 9th victims.

Bina Tamang, 69 yr old of Dhajay Bhalukhop died on 24.09.20 in Tribeni Covid Hospital (brought dead). Her death was 10th of the district.

The 11th death was of Ashok Khati, 55 yr old of Murgihatta Ward no 11. He died on 8th October at Dr. Chhang’s Covid Hospital.  

All patients had comorbidities before their death.

19 new cases from Kalimpong Town, Algarah and Gorubathan reported, A State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district with 19 new cases has 1341 confirmed cases of which 1166 have recovered, 11 died and 164 are active cases. 

 

114 of Malda: 

114 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda with 116 new cases has 8894 confirmed cases of which 7847 have recovered and 73 died and 974 are active cases.

 

42 of Alipurduar:

42 new cases, 57 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar with 47 new cases has 6079 confirmed cases of which 5462 have recovered and 73 died while 544 are active cases. 

119 of Coochbehar: 

119 new cases with 95 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar with 92 new cases has 7742 confirmed cases of which 6834 have recovered, 51 died and 857 are active cases. 

108 of Jalpaiguri: 

108 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri with 90 new cases has 8125 confirmed cases of which 81 died while 6941 have recovered and 1103 are active cases. 

77 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 77 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 17 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 9 in Female -Gynecological Isolation ward, 4 patients in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 61 Covid-19 patients are admitted, while during the last 24 hours patients are newly admitted and 7 are released and 3 are referred. 

At Dr.Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of Dhoteriah, M V Road, Singel TE, Naya Bazar, Tiger Hill Road, Lower Dumaram, Upper Dumaram, Holy Cross, Gandhigram Kurseong and 1 of Sindebong Kalimpong, Sinji, Lava, Dr. Grahm’s Homes and Kalimpong, GTA area are admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 53 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 9 patients are newly admitted and 11 released. 

1 each of M.B. T.E, MV Road Kurseong, Mahendra Gaon Mirik and D M Office Kalimpong and D.S Gurung Road Kalimpong of GTA area are admitted.

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 744in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 643 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1387.

There are 12 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital outside GTA area, 21 in GTA area and 10 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 45 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.

Today’s daily state bulletin regarding the report of the last 24 hrs stated that Darjeeling district with 110 new cases has 10214 confirmed cases of which 8924 have recovered and 132 died while 1158 are active cases.
