5 deaths, 16 of Hills (9 of Kalimpong and 7 of Darjeeling), 65 of SMC infected

81 recovered from Covid-19,  Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 9 in Kalimpong, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 1 in Pulbazar, 1 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 11 in Sukuna, 2 in Khoribari, 21 in Matigara, 16 in Naxalbari, and 10 in Phansidewa tested positive. 21 in Alipurduar, 105 in Coochbehar, 56 in Jalpaiguri, 98 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 30 October 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

5 Deaths: 5 deaths reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district.

Garjaman Rana, 83 yr old of Giddepahar Kurseong;

Mihir Kumar Paul,75  yr old of Sharadapalli Siliguri died in a Nursing Home at Sevoke Road.

Ravi Vairagi, 63 yr old of Khudirampalli Bagdogra died in Desun Covid Hospital

Manoranjan Roy, 64 yr old of Shantinagar Dabgram died within an hour of admission in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital. He was referred from a nursing home.

Biswanath Mahanta, 78 yr old of Balurghat died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

68 of SMC:

68 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (45 in Darjeeling and 23 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

112 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 112 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 45 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 7 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 1 in Pulbazar, 1 in Mirik,.

Of the plains they are- 11 in Sukuna, 2 in Khoribari, 21 in Matigara, 16 in Naxalbari, and 10 in Phansidewa tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district with 119 new cases has 11369 confirmed cases of which 9796 have recovered and 139 died while 1434 are active cases. 

9 in Kalimpong: 

9 new cases from Kalimpong reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district with 9 new cases has 1420 confirmed cases of which 1290 have recovered, 14 died and 116 are active cases. 

 

98 in Malda: 

98 new cases, 103 release reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda with 104 new cases has 9702 confirmed cases of which 8588 have recovered and 82 died and 1032 are active cases.

21 in Alipurduar:

21 new cases, 46 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar with 24 new cases has 6357 confirmed cases of which 5912 have recovered and 76 died while 369 are active cases. 

105 in Coochbehar: 

105 new cases with 94 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar with 105 new cases has 8497 confirmed cases of which 7470 have recovered, 51 died and 976 are active cases. 

 

56 in Jalpaiguri: 

56 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 Jalpaiguri with 86 new cases has 8984 confirmed cases of which 87 died while 7782 have recovered and 1115 are active cases. 

 

81 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 81 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 14 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 3 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 8 in Female -Gynecological Isolation ward, 3 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 is admitted. 

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 47 Covid-19 patients are admitted of them 11 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 6 patients are newly admitted and 4 are released and 1 are referred.

At Dr.Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Singel TE, Holy Cross, Bhotay Busty Darjeeling, Ging, Balason, and 1 of Sindebong Kalimpong, Lower Sindebong Kalimpong, Mangmaya and Jholung GTA area are admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 49 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 8 patients are newly admitted 7 are released.

1 each MV Road Kurseong, Pankhabari, Burbong Busty, Fatak Danra, Kurseong, and Paren Jaldhaka Kalimpong of GTA area are admitted.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 628 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 653 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1281.

There are 14 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital outside GTA area, 35 in GTA area and 30 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 81 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
