2 die in Siliguri; 59 fresh cases in Darj dist
SNS, SILIGURI, 27 OCTOBER 2020: A 50 year-old resident of Rajganj in Jalpaiguri district died at the Desun (Covid) Hospital in Siliguri. Another 75 year-old man from Baghajatin Colony in Siliguri died at Dr Chhang's (Covid) Hospital, sources said.
Meanwhile, Darjeeling district recorded 59 Covid -19 cases today, including 17 in the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, one in Darjeeling Municipality, three in Kharibari, one in Sukna, seven in Matigara, three in Mirik, 14 in Naxalbari, 11 in Phansidewa, and two in Pulbazaar/Bijanbari, sources said. Also, nine cases were detected in the Jalpaiguri portion of the SMC.
320 cases in Malda in five days
In Malda, 320 Covid cases were detected in the past five days, sources said. The total number of cases in the district has now gone past the 3300 mark. A total of 34 caseswere detected in tests conducted at the VRDL, in the Malda Medical College and Hospital and through rapid antigen tests last night, sources said. Sixteen of the fresh cases were from the English Bazaar Municipality area.
