81 fresh Covid cases in Darjeeling district, 31 were found in the Siliguri Municipal Corporation
SNS, SILIGURI, 28 SEPTEMBER 2020: A 61-year-old resident of Jalpaiguri died at the designated hospital for Covid- 19 patients at Kawakhali in Siliguri last night, sources said.
He had been admitted in the hospital on 26 September.
Also today, two persons who had tested positive for the virus in Alipurduar district died, sources said. In Alipurduar district, 82 persons were tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, the sources added.
81 fresh Covid cases in Darjeeling district
Darjeding district recorded 81 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, sources said.
A total of:31 were found in the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, seven in Darjeeling Municipality, three in Kharibari, one in Sukna, nine in Matigara, seven in Mirik, 15 in Naxalbari, six in Phansidewa, on e in Sukhia Pokhari, and one in Takdah.
A total of 21 cases were also reported front SMC areas under Jalpaiguri district, sources said.
Also today, 72 patients were either discharged from hospitals or they ended their home isolation period, officials said.
68 in North Dinajpur
A total of 68 persons have freshly tested positive for Covid-19 in areas under different police
stations in North Dinajpur district, sources said.
According to district health officials, the recovery rate in the district is presently more than 85 percent.
52 more in Malda district
In Malda, 52 samples tested positive for the virus in tests conducted at the VRDL in the Malda Medical College and Hospital through the RT-PCR method last night.
Among the cases, 18 are from the English Bazaar Municipality area, with the others from other blocks. The district now has over 6500 cases with 56 deaths and over 500 active cases, sources said.
