8 COVID-19 DEATHS FROM DARJEELING AND KALIMPONG DISTRICT

54 recovered, 90 in Darjeeling 13 in Kalimpong dist tested positive, Deaths-8, Positive cases-  36 in SMC – 1 each in Darjeeling, Kurseong, Takdah,  Sukuna, 6 in Sukhiapokhari, 5 in Mirik, 8 in Pulbazar, 21 in Matigara, 13 in Naxalbari, 7 in Phansidewa, 3 in Khoribari, 71 in Coochbehar, 52 in Alipurduar, 37 in Jalpaiguri, 96 in Malda tested positive.

8 Deaths:

Fresh alarming 8 deaths have been recorded within last 24 hours in he districts of Kalimpong and Darjeeling. Of the 8 deaths one is from Kalimpong while 5 are from Darjeeling district and 1 each from Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri districts. All deaths occured in the Covid hospitals of Darjeeling district. The seven are, one each of Sukhiapokhari, Rangeyroong, Sukuna, Debinagar, Mohitnamagar, Shivmandir and Kalchini. 

They are: Kuber Lepcha, 66 yr of Sukuna and 85 yr old man of Devinagar died in Desun Covid Hospital.

Mina Rai, 60 yr of Rangeyroong; Roshan Mukhia, 54 yr of Sukhiapokhar; Adhir Sarkar, 60 yr of  Mohitnagar died in Dr Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

Satish Chandra Singh, 80 yr of Atharo (18) Khai Shivmandir died in a private nursing home.

Bishnu Lama, 65 yr of Kalchini Alipurduar died in RICU ward of NBMCH.

Death tally in Kalimpong to 6: Anugrah Lepcha, 50 yr of Thakurbari Kalimpong who was admitted at District hospital Kalimpong and was referred to Siliguri but died on the way to hospital. She had tested Covid positive and had heart related ailment. Her death is the 6th death of Covid. 

The first death was of Sunita Devi of Kalimpong Town who died on 30 March at NBMCH and her death was the first also of North Bengal. The second death was of Uma Devi of Sombaray Bazar Gorubathan who died on 13 July.  Narmaya Biswakarma of Teesta, the third patient of Covid-19 died on 19 August. Her test result of positive declaration came only after her death and crema.

The fourth death was of Joseph Dahal of 6th Mile Kalimpong who died on 21 August while the fifth patient, Ghanashyam Basur died on 23 August. All patients had comorbidities before their death .

36 of SMC:

36 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (26 of Darjeeling and 10 from Jalpaiguri district) tested positive during the last 24 hrs. They are:   and others tested positive.

90 of Darjeeling district:

Of the 90 positive cases of Darjeeling district 26 are from Darjeeling district of SMC while 64 cases are reported from different areas of the district during the last 24 hrs. They are 1 of Darjeeling Municipality, 1 of Kurseong, 5 of Mirik, 6 of Sukhiapokhari, 8 of Pulbazar, 1 of Takdah, 1 of Sukuna, 21 of Matigara, 13 of Naxalbari, 7 of Phansidewa and 3 of Khoribari.   

Darjeeling district has 6017 confirmed cases of which 5248 have recovered and 90 died while 679 are active cases

As per the departmental bulletin, within 24 hours of yesterday 86 new cases were reported.. 

Similarly 

 

13 of Kalimpong: A 50 yr woman of Thakurbari died, 13 new cases reported from Kalimpong including 10 of Jaldhaka. Kalimpong district has 590 confirmed cases of which 515 have recovered, 3 died and 72 are active cases. 

96 of Malda: 96 new cases reported today from Malda. Malda has 5442 confirmed cases of which 5052 have recovered and 46 died and 344 are active cases

52 of Alipurduar: 52 new cases reported. Alipurduar has 3154 confirmed cases of which 2571 have recovered and 27 died while 556 are active cases

71 of Coochbehar: 1 died, 71 new cases of Covid 19 infection. Coochbehar has 4099 confirmed cases of which 3505 have recovered, 18 died and 576 are active cases. 

37 of Jalpaiguri:  37 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. Jalpaiguri has 4556 confirmed cases of which 38 died while 3931 have recovered and 587 are active cases. 

54 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 54 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today.

 

NBMCH

11 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There 3 patient in RICU ward and 8 in Female -Gynecological Isolation ward are admitted. 1 of Assam died.

1 each of Mirik, Pedong and of Bagdhara Kalimpong are admitted. 1 each of Zakir Hussain Road, and Jholung are referred.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 55 patients are admitted today in this hospital at Himanchal Vihar of which 8 is newly admitted while 11 are released. 

1 each of MV Road, Upper Naya Busty, Kurseong Bazar, Batasia, Mahanadi, and 1 each of RC Mintri Road, Thakurbari Kalimpong and Mongpong Outpost of GTA area are admitted. 1 of Gurung gaon released.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 51 Covid-19 patients are admitted, 17 are in ICU and 4 patients are newly admitted and 9 released. 

1 each of Makaibari, Kak Jhora, Below Darjeeling College, Jorebunglow, Zakir Hussain Road, Darjeeling, Lower Makaibari,  Sukuna,and 1 each of Thakurbari, Kalimpong, and Monsong of GTA area are admitted, 2 are referred and 1 is released.

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

51 patients are admitted of which 11 are in ICU are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 32 are Covid patients. 6 released.

The number of people in the district of Darjeeling are, 993 in home quaramtine - in Kalimpong district 653 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1646

There are 18 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital outside GTA area, 22 in GTA area and 45 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 3 in 2 Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 88 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.

Number of Covid patients in the eight districts of North Bengal

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 6017 confirmed cases of which 5248 have recovered and 90 died while 679 are active cases. 

Similarly Kalimpong district has 590 confirmed cases of which 515 have recovered, 3 died and 72 are active cases. 

Alipurduar has 3154 confirmed cases of which 2571 have recovered and 27 died while 556 are active cases. 

Jalpaiguri has 4556 confirmed cases of which 38 died while 3931 have recovered and 587 are active cases. 

Coochbehar has 4099 confirmed cases of which 3505 have recovered, 18 died and 576 are active cases.

Uttar Dinajpur has 2738 confirmed cases of which 2377 have recovered and 27 died and 334 are active cases.
