4 death: 

A 68 year old woman of Tista Bazar died at Kalimpong District hospital. She was admitted at female ward with dysentery related problem on 16^th August and she hailed from Tista her swab test was done on 17^th August and died on 19^th August . Her swab test result was announced and published on 20^th August after her death. It is also reported that her son had tasted positive but and was treated at Tribeni hospital sometimes back, but the family members did not disclose the matter to the hospital authority, as such she was admitted in the female ward of the Dist hospital. Following her death, female ward of the hospital is closed for a week while some patients were shifted in isolation and all contact, patients of the ward and staff engaged in the ward are quarantined. Swab test of all concerned staff and patients were done and all tested negative.

Hari Prasad Gurung, 60 year old retired army officer of Bagdogra died at Bengdubi Covid hospital

M Bandhuan, 50 year old of Assam died at NBMCH, was admitted as an accident patient.

A 53 year old of Talmati, Sahebgunj Coochbehar died at Dr Chhang’s Superspeciality Covid hospital.

71 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation: During the last 24 hrs 71 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (  of Darjeeling and   of Jalpaiguri) tested positive. It is reported that the test result is accumulation of 4 days.

They are 10 of Champasari, 5 of Hakimpara and Ward no. 20, 4  of Pradhannagar, Rabindranagar, 3 of New Palpara and 1 from different areas like Ward nos. 23,24, 32 tested positive.

145 of Darjeeling district

Of the 145 positive cases of Darjeeling district 71 are from SMC while 74 cases are reported from different areas of the district and 52 are army personnel, during the last 24 hrs. They are 3 in Darjeeling, 3 in Kurseong sub-division, 7 in Sukhiapokhari, 1 in Takdah, 2 in Pulbazar, 3 in Mirik, 5 in Sukuna, 36 in Naxalbari (32 of Bengdubi Army camp), 37 in Matigara (including doctor, nurse and nursing student),  2 in Phansidewa and 3 in Khoribari tested positive. 

Darjeeling district has 3838 confirmed cases of which 3026 have recovered and 55 died while 757 are active cases. 

 

3 of Kalimpong district: 1 death of positive patient and 3 testing positive is reported from Kalimpong.

There are 314 confirmed cases of which 145 have recovered, 1 died and 168 are active cases. 

 

70 of Malda:  70 new cases reported today from Malda. Malda has 3726 confirmed cases of which 3469 have recovered and 21 died and 236 are active cases.

 

7 of Alipurduar:  7 new cases reported. In the district there are 819 confirmed cases of which 486 have recovered and 18 died while 315 are active cases. 

 

39 of Coochbehar:  39 new cases of Covid 19 infection with 29 recovery is reported today. The complete report of the district is, 1676 confirmed cases of which 1393 have recovered, 1 died and 283 are active cases. 

.

48 of Jalpaiguri:  48 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. Jalpaiguri has 3796 confirmed cases of which 22 died while 2400 have recovered and 1374 are active cases. 

 

54 Discharged: 

After testing negative and recovery 54 of different Covid hospitals were discharged today.

 

NBMCH

25 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

There are 3 in Surgical Isolation, 5 patients in Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU), and 17 in Female -Gynecological Isolation ward are admitted. 5 tested positive and 1 died.

1 of Kurseong admitted and 1 of Kurseong released. 

 

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 89 patients are admitted today in this hospital at Himanchal Vihar of which 8 are newly admitted. 1 died here.

8 of Kurseong and 1 of Jorebunglow admitted.

 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 47 Covid-19 patients are admitted 19 are in ICU and 12 patients are newly admitted and 7 released.

1 each from Dr Zakir Hussain Road Darjeeling, Kurseong and Sukhiapokhari are admitted in this hospital. 

 

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

48 patients of which 9 are in ICU and are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 33 are Covid patients.4 are released.

A 79 yrs of Islampur and another 72 yrs of Kaliagunj of Uttar Dinajpur died in this hospital.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 1035 and in Kalimpong district is 575, the tally of GTA area stands to 1776. 

There are 12 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospitals outside GTA area, 39 in GTA area and 75 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA and 3 outside GTA area, the tally being 129 as active cases.

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 4007 confirmed cases of which 3153 have recovered and 56 died while 798 are active cases. 

Similarly Kalimpong district has 364 confirmed cases of which 220 have recovered, 1 died and 143 are active cases. 

Alipurduar has 1195 confirmed cases of which 829 have recovered and 6 died while 360 are active cases. 

Jalpaiguri has 2584 confirmed cases of which 25 died while 1880 have recovered and 679 are active cases. 

Coochbehar has 1930 confirmed cases of which 1471 have recovered, 2 died and 457 are active cases. 

Malda has 4180 confirmed cases of which 3429 have recovered and 25 died and 726 are active cases.

Uttar Dinajpur has 1898 confirmed cases of which 1417 have recovered and 15 died and 466 are active cases.
