5 died of Covid in Darjeeling and 1 in Kalimpong district

Niharlendu Mohan Choudhary, 66 Yr of Dakshin Deshbandhupara Ward no.27 died in a nursing home, Rak kumar Rai, 67 yr of Denguajhar died in ICU of DESUN hospital,

Manju Agarwal, 58 yr of Bihar  and Pradeep Kumar Yadav, 55 yr of Purnea Bihar died in a nursing home.

Kaji Dorjee, 52 yr of Jaigaon- Alipurduar died in RICU unit of NBMCH.

73 yr old of Nalichor Pachyang Sonada of Darjeeling district died in Tribeni hospital. Its the first death in this hospital.

Till today 84 Covid patients of Darjeeling district along with Co morbidities

Lockdown extended:

Lockdown in the GTA area is extended for seven days. 4 Municipality areas of Darjeeling, Kurseong, Mirik and Kalimpong will remain closed for further 7 days till 8 August 2020.  New Containment zones have been declared in Sombaray Bazar, Teesta Bazar of Kalimpong and , Sonada Bazar, Chimni Deorali, Bijanbari Bazar, Pokhriabong Bazar, Sukhiapokhari Bazar,

254 of Darjeeling and Kalimpong district tested positive

148 of two districts and 106 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation tested positive during the last 24 hrs. The test result wass accumulated lot of certain laboratories for three days, a source said.

3 of Darjeeling, 16 of Kurseong (6 from Kurseong Municipality, 2 of Sukuna and others), 7 of Sukhiapokhari,  1 Pulbazar, 2 of Kalimpong, 26 of Naxalbari, 23 of Matigara, 1 of Khoribari, 4 of Phansidewa and others tested positive.

98 of Malda:  98 new cases reported today from Malda. There are 2235 Confirmed cases, 1504 have recovered and 16 died and 629 are active cases. 

31 of Jalpaiguri:  1 death reported. 38 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. 15 of Maynaguri, 4 of Jalpaiguri, 6 of Mal, 3 of Nagkatta, 3 of Matelli tested positive. In the district there are 1314 confirmed cases of which 940 have recovered, 11 died and 350 active cases.

56 of Coochbehar:  56 new cases of Covid 19 infection is reported today. The complete report of the district is 656 confirmed cases of which 2 are nationals of Bangladesh and 1 of them had died, 457 recovery and 198 active cases. 

3 death, 17 of Alipurduar infected: One of Jaigaon Alipurduar died in NBMCH. 3 Police personnel and 2Civic volunteer and health staff of Alipurduar tested positive, 17 new cases of Kalchini reported from Alipurduar. In the district there are 335 Confirmed cases, 220 recovered, 6 died and 113 active cases. 

49 Discharged: After testing negative twice and recovery, 27 patients from Dr. Chhang’s Covid Super specialty hospital, and 22 from Desun Covid hospital and 26 from Safe Homes were discharged today.

NBMCH

20 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

There are 9 patients in Surgical ward, 3 patients in Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU), and 8 in Gynecological ward. 

1 of Jaldhaka–GTA is admitted.

 

DR. CHHANG'S SS COVID hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 104 patients are admitted today. 

1 patient each of Jaldhaka, Subedar Busty-Kurseong, Pulbazar and Tungsung-Darjeeling, Mirik and  2 of Kurseong are admitted.

1 of Tamsang- Darjeeling is released.

DESUN COvid hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 68 Covid-19 patients are admitted of which 17 are in ICU.

1 of Pankhabari Kurseong is admitted in this hospital.

1 of Haridashatta Darjeeling is released

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

40 patients are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 26 are Covid patients.

TRIBENI Covid Hospital

9 patients of Kalimpong and 17 from Darjeeling are admitted in this hospital while 1 patient of Sonada died last night. A 73 yr old patient of Nalichor Pachyang Sonada of Darjeeling district died in Tribeni hospital. Its the first death in this hospital.

Government of West Bengal has upgraded this hospital from SARI II to SARI IV Covid hospital.

5 Covid patients of Kalimpong district are admitted and being treated here.

 QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 883 and in Kalimpong district is 579, the tally of GTA area stands to 1462. 

Altogether there are 46 persons in 3 institutional facility quarantines and 26 patients in 3 Safe Homes of GTA.

 

Number of Covid patients in the eight districts of North Bengal

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 2235 confirmed cases of which 1555 have recovered and 22 died while 658 are active cases. 

Similarly Kalimpong district has 93 confirmed cases of which 74 have recovered, 1 died and 18 are active cases. 

Alipurduar has 381 confirmed cases of which 241 have recovered and 2 died while 138 are active cases. 

Jalpaiguri has 1356 confirmed cases of which 12 died while 1011 have recovered and 333 are active cases. 

Coochbehar has 761 confirmed cases of which 515 have recovered, 0 died and 246 are active cases. 

Malda has 2399 confirmed cases of which 1969 have recovered and 12 died and 418 are active cases.

Uttar Dinajpur has 1168 confirmed cases of which 791 have recovered and 9 died and 368 are active cases.

Dakshin Dinajpur has 1201 confirmed cases of which 930 have recovered and 7 died and 264 are active cases.
