District report- Recovery- 71, Death – 4 of Darjeeling, 1 of Falakatta; Positive cases - 28 of SMC, 8 of Kurseong, 26 of Malda, 44 of Alipurduar, 72 of Coochbehar, tested positive

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 9 August 2020: 

4 dies of Covid  : 4 patients died in different hospitals of Siliguri within 24 hrs. Lokeshwari Devi, 80 yr of Panchanan Colony- Pradhan Nagar, Laxman Das 72  yr of Sushrutnagar Matigara died in Desun Covid Hospital.

Gopi Krishna Pandey 62 yr of Sevoke Road, Ward No.42, and Hiralal Saha, 80 yr of Fulbarihat died in Nivedita nursing home.

 

28 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation: During the last 24 hrs, 28 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation under the district of Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri tested positive. 4 of Ward no. 27, 35; 3 of Ward No. 2 , 31,  1 of Ward Nos. 1, 5, 7, 15,  28, 42, 47 tested positive. 

 

19 of Darjeeling district:  8 of Kurseong ,10 of Matigara, 1 of Naxalbari tested positive along with that, Tripurari Atharv, Siliguri Police Commissioner also tested positive.

26 Malda: 26 new cases reported today from Malda. There are 2844 Confirmed cases, 1866 have recovered and 18 died and 946 are active cases. 

44 of Alipurduar: 1 woman of Falakatta died, 1 police officer of Kalchini infected.  44 case reported. In the district there are 548 Confirmed cases, 295 recovered, 16 died and 249 active cases. 

72 of Coochbehar:  72  new cases of Covid 19 infection is reported today. The complete report of the district is 1220 confirmed cases of which 2 are nationals of Bangladesh and 1 of them had died, 944 recovery and 276 active cases 

47 of Jalpaiguri: 47 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. It includes 5 of Jalpaiguri, 7 of Mal, Nagarkatta ,13 Maynaguri,  1 of Matelli, 18 of Dhupguri. 3 of Rajgunj. In the district there are 1641 confirmed cases of which 1199 have recovered, 11 died and 431 active cases.  

 

71 Discharged: 

After testing negative twice and recovery, 15 patients from Dr. Chhang’s Covid Super specialty hospital, 17 from Desun Covid hospital, 7 from Nivedita nursing home and others from Safe homes and home isolation were discharged today.

 

NBMCH

24 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

There are 1 patient in Isolation ward-I, 7 patients in Surgical Isolation ward, 5 patients in Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU), and 11 in Gynecological Isolation ward are admitted. 

1 of Darjeeling and 1 of Longview Kurseong are admitted.

 

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 53 patients are admitted today in this hospital at Himanchal Vihar of which 10 are newly admitted while 15 are released. 

1 no of Panighatta admitted.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 65 Covid-19 patients are admitted of which 17 patients are being treated in ICU. 9 are newly admitted and 17 are released and 1 dead.

1 each of Kurseong, Bagora Kurseong, Bloomfield and Jorebunglow are admitted in this hospital.

 

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

48 patients are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 34 are Covid patients.

2 died and 7 are released.

14 patients of Kalimpong and 21 from Darjeeling are admitted in and 7 are released from this hospital.

Government of West Bengal has upgraded this hospital from SARI II to SARI IV.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 1032 and in Kalimpong district is 542, the tally of GTA area stands to 1574. 

Altogether there are 45 persons in 3 institutional facility quarantines.

There are 21 Covid patients in 3 Covid hospitals and 42 more Covid patients in 4 Safe Homes of GTA. and 6 in 2 Safe Homes outside GTA the tally being 69 Covid patients.

Number of Covid patients in the eight districts of North Bengal

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 2977 confirmed cases of which 2112 have recovered and 39 died while 826 are active cases. 

Similarly Kalimpong district has 133 confirmed cases of which 91 have recovered, 1 died and 41 are active cases. 

Alipurduar has 640 confirmed cases of which 373 have recovered and 4 died while 263 are active cases. 

Jalpaiguri has 1779 confirmed cases of which 14 died while 1296 have recovered and 469 are active cases. 

Coochbehar has 1367 confirmed cases of which 825 have recovered, 0 died and  542 are active cases. 

Malda has 3058 confirmed cases of which 2332 have recovered and 17 died and 709 are active cases.

Uttar Dinajpur has 1356 confirmed cases of which 1122 have recovered and 13 died and 221 are active cases.

Dakshin Dinajpur has 1806 confirmed cases of which 1180 have recovered and 13 died and 613 are active cases.
