District report- Recovery- 57, Death – 6; Positive cases - 22 of Kalimpong, 69 of Darjeeling dist. (23 of SMC, 46 of Darjeeling- 5 of Darjeeling municipality, 10 of Kurseong, 1 of Bijanbari, 1 of Mirik,), 104 of Malda, 47 of Jalpaiguri, 34 of Alipurduar, 34 of Coochbehar, tested positive

 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 8 August 2020: 

6 died : 6 patients died in different hospitals of North Bengal around Darjeeling district within the last 24 hrs- Prabir Dasgupta, 66 yr of Suryasen Colony infected twice (After testing positive on 1st August tested negative and on 4th August again tested Positive and died in DESUN hospital.

Latifah Devi Srivastav 80 yr of Ward No 5 , Paltan Induwar, 52 yr of Belgachi TE Naxalbari and Asha Tamang 52 yr of Manabari Jalpaiguri died in DESUN hospital. 

Kaushala Devi Das, 55 yr of Birpara died in a nursing home, Luspah Begum 50 yr of Islampur died in NBMCH.

23 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation: During the last 24 hrs, 23 persons of Siliguri Municipality Corporation under the district of Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri tested positive. 

They are from 3 of Ward No.32; 2 of. Ward Nos.12, 44; 1 each of Ward Nos.4, 5, 14, 24, 8, 33;  and 2 police personnel, and one each of Subhaspalli and Shivnagar.

46 of Darjeeling district:  46 of Darjeeling district also tested positive within last 24 hrs. They are - 5 of Darjeeling municipality, 10 of Kurseong, 1 of Bijanbari, 1 of Mirik, 20 of Naxalbari (16 of Bengdubi army camp), 7 of Matigara and 2 of Khoribari.  

22 of Kalimpong: Once again a large number of persons of Kalimpong distric have tested positive to Covid-19 within the last 24 hrs t. They are  6 yr and 12 yr girls and a 39 yr woman of the same family of Primtam Road;. Beside them a 38 yr male of East main Road; a 21 yr male of Tumlabung; 34 yr and 41 yr of  Tar Khola; 29 yr of Ramphu ;  28 yr, 48 yr, 53 yr, 51 yr, 65 yr of Malli ; 26 yr, 30 yr, 31 yr, 31 yr, 47 yr,  48 yr, 52 yr, 56 yr and 65 yr of Teesta have tested positive.

104  Malda: 104 new cases reported today from Malda. There are 2703 Confirmed cases, 1729 have recovered, 18 died and 946 are active cases. 

34  of Alipurduar: 34 new cases reported in the districts that includes 11 police personnel and police officers. In the district there are 532 Confirmed cases, 283 recovered, 14 died and 288 active cases. 

34 of Coochbehar:    new cases of Covid 19 infection is reported today. The complete report of the district is 1149 confirmed cases of which 2 are nationals of Bangladesh and 1 of them had died, 901 recovery and 247 active cases 

47 of Jalpaiguri: One 58 yr woman died in Oodlabari, 47 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. It includes 5 of Jalpaiguri, 7 of Mal, Nagarkatta ,13 Maynaguri,  1 of Matelli, 18 of Dhupguri. 3 of Rajgunj. In the district there are 1641 confirmed cases of which 1199 have recovered, 11 died and 431 active cases.  

41 Discharged: 

After testing negative twice and recovery, 27 patients from Dr. Chhang’s Covid Super specialty hospital, 7 from Desun Covid hospital, 7 from Nivedita nursing home and other Safe homes and home isolation were discharged today.

NBMCH

19 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

There are 1 patient in Isolation ward-I, 4 patients in Surgical Isolation ward, 3 patients in Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU), and 11 in Gynecological Isolation ward are admitted. 

1 of Jholung- Kalimpong is admitted.

3 died during the last 24 hrs. 

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 53 patients are admitted today in this hospital at Himanchal Vihar of which 14 are newly admitted while 9 are released. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 68 Covid-19 patients are admitted of which 17 patients are being treated in ICU. 12 are newly admitted and 8 are released and 1 dead.

1 each of Kurseong, Bloomfield and Jorebunglow are admitted in this hospital.

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

46 patients are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 32 are Covid patients.

1 died and 7 are released.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 1019 and in Kalimpong district is 553, the tally of GTA area stands to 1569. 

Altogether there are 45 persons in 3 institutional facility quarantines.

There are 34 Covid patients in 3 Covid hodpitals and 34 more Covid patients in 4 Safe Homes of GTA. and 2 in 2 Safe Homes outside GTA the tally being 70 Covid patients.

Number of Covid patients in the eight districts of North Bengal

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 2909 confirmed cases of which 2049 have recovered and 36 died while 824 are active cases. 

Similarly Kalimpong district has 127 confirmed cases of which 87 have recovered, 1 died and 39 are active cases. 

Alipurduar has 620 confirmed cases of which 344 have recovered and 4 died while 272 are active cases. 

Jalpaiguri has 1745 confirmed cases of which 13 died while 1260 have recovered and 472 are active cases. 

Coochbehar has 1275 confirmed cases of which 758 have recovered, 0 died and  517 are active cases. 

Malda has 3020 confirmed cases of which 2328 have recovered and 17 died and 675 are active cases.

Uttar Dinajpur has 1320 confirmed cases of which 1107 have recovered and 13 died and 200 are active cases.

Dakshin Dinajpur has 1743 confirmed cases of which 1165 have recovered and 12 died and 566 are active cases.
