Record 157 cases of Covid-19 in Darjeeling dist. reported, 62 Recovery, 65 of Malda, 30 of Jalpaiguri (20 of Mal Bazar), 18 of Coochbehar, 4 of Kalimpong, 3 SSB jawan tested positive, 3 dies,

3 died of Covid:

A 70 yr old patient of Ward No. 12 died in RICU ward of NBMCH. A  50 yr old of Islampur died in DESUN Hospital , while a 59 yr old of Oodlabari died today in Dr.Chhang’s Covid hospital.

157 cases in district:

Record 148 cases of Covid-19 infection within 24 hrs. is reported from Darjeeling district. Highest number of infection recorded so far from Darjeeling was 112.  

Of the 148 cases 85 cases are reported from different parts of district of Darjeeling and a few from other districts. They are from 34 of Naxalbari, 4 of Kalimpong, 10 of Matigara, 12 of Rajgunj. Beside that other cases are from Khoribari, Phansidewa,  Darjeeling. SSB jawans, ITBP and RAF personnels and staff of NBSTC including drivers are reported to have tested positive. 

Beside that cases tested at VRDL of NBMCH are from Birpara, Malda, Jalpaiguri and Mal. 

72 of Siliguri MC:

The patients identified in the last 24 hrs are - 7 of Ward no.45, 6 of Ward no.42, Sevoke Road, 4 of Ward no.2, 3 of Khalpara, Bardhaman Road,  2 of Ward no.,20, 31, 35, 39, 46, 1 of Ward no. 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 28, 30, 34, 37, 38, 39, 40, 43 and some of Maharaja Hospital.

Coochbehar:  18 new cases of Covid 19 infection is reported today. The complete report of the district is 414 confirmed cases of which 2 are nationals of Bangladesh and 1 of them had died, 340 recovery and 73 active cases. Lock down in the district is extended for one week.

Malda:  Record 65 new cases and 1 death reported today from Malda. Ratua I has the highest number of infected persons. There are 1691 Confirmed cases, 941 have recovered and 7 died and 743 are active cases. 

Jalpaiguri:  30 new case is reported from Jalpaiguri today. Of these 16 of Mal, 2 Damdim, 8 Oodlabari, 1 of Tesimilla 3 of Rangamuttie.

In the district there are 806 confirmed cases of which 479 have recovered, 4 died and 333 active cases. Lockdown is implemented in Banarhat as 14 of police personnel of Banarhat Police Station.Lockdown in the district is extended for another seven days

Alipurduar: No new cases reported from Alipurduar. In the district there are 216 Confirmed cases, 196 recovered,1 died and 19 active cases. 

62 Discharged: After testing negative twice and recovery from Dr. Chhang’s Covid Super speciality hospital, Desun Covid hospital and different Safe homes 62 patients are discharged today. 

NBMCH

There are 24 patients in the three Isolation Ward of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). 

There are 4 in Isolation Ward –I, 5 in Surgical Ward, 6 patients in Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU), and 9 in Gynecological ward. 

1 patient of Tungsung, Darjeeling is admitted from NBMCH. 

DR. CHHANG'S SS COVID hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 90 patients are admitted today. 

1 patient of  Kalimpong  is released today.

DESUN hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 80 Covid-19 patients are admitted of them 20 are in ICU.

1 each of Tindharia and Kalimpong are admitted.    

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

2 died in Isolation ward of this Covid hospital. 34 are admitted.

TRIBENI Covid Hospital

Government of West Bengal has upgraded this hospital from SARI II to SARI IV Covid hospital. Presently there are 1 patient of Darjeeling and 2 patients of Kalimpong in Triveni hospital. 

HATIGHISA SAFE HOUSE 

1 of Tindharia and 3 of Mirik are admitted. 

BATASIA SAFE HOUSE 

66 are admitted. 1 of Mirik, 1 of Sukuna and 1 of Kurseong are admitted to this Safe House. 

GTA

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 20 July 2020: 

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 1248 and in Kalimpong district is 801, the tally of GTA area stands to 2049. 

Altogether there are 70 persons in 6 institutional facility quarantines of GTA.

SUMMARY OF INFECTION IN SIX DISTRICTS OF NORTH BENGAL

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 1345 confirmed cases of which 825 have recovered and 14 died while 506 are active cases. 

Similarly Kalimpong district has 64 confirmed cases of which 56 have recovered, 1 died and 7 are active cases. 

Alipurduar has 219 confirmed cases of which 204 have recovered and 1 died while 14 are active cases. Jalpaiguri has 806 confirmed cases of which 3 died while 541 have recovered and 294 are active cases. 

CoochBehar has 406 confirmed cases of which 355 have recovered and 51 are active cases. 

Malda has 1796 confirmed cases of which 1124 have recovered and 7 died and 639 are active cases.
