TT | Cooch Behar | 25.07.20 : Three persons were arrested allegedly with a large cache of arms near here on Friday.
Police said the preliminary probe showed that the trio from Dinhata had brought the arms and ammunition from Bihar.
Seven 7mm automatic pistols, eight country-made improvised firearms, 15 magazines, 100 rounds of 7.68 bullets and 10 8mm bullets were among the items seized from Soleman Mian, Rana Haque and Ajinur Haque.
Cooch Behar district police chief Santosh Nimbalkar said the three needed to be interrogated further to know the purpose of the arms’ purchase.
The trio were booked under the Arms Act.
“Their car was also seized,” said a police officer.
