33 patients at DESUN hospital -4 of Darjeeling area ...Number of persons in home quarantine increase to 906 from 823of GTA area i

DAILY REPORT 

NORTH BENGAL 

SARI hospital: Presently 33 patients are admitted in DESUN - severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) Hospital. Swab test of 22 of the 33 is done and waiting for the result. 

Of these 33 patients, 4 are from Darjeeling.

NBMCH: One patient of Islampur is admitted in Isolation ward of Gynecological department of NBMCH. Swab test of the patient for Covid –19 is done. 

3 persons are in the Isolation ward of NBMCH and they are from Nehaljote of Naxalbari,  Dinhata and Jalpaiguri and another of Jalpaiguri. They are suspected to have been infected of Covid-19 but their swab test result is yet to be confirmed. 

Covid Hospital: Currently, 6 Covid-19 patients who donot belong to the districts of Darjeeling and Kalimpong are being treated at Dr. Chang’s super speciality Covid-19 hospital. As they tested positive for the second time they are waiting for the next test to be done. 

Last night 4 patients who were Covid 19 negative died at DESUN Hospital.

21 doctors and 6 nurses of NBMCH and others are in quarantine centre.

GTA 

7 patients in institutional and 906 in home quarantine: In the two districts of GTA area , the number of persons at home quarantines is increased from 823 to 906. 

3 persons are in the quarantine centre of ITI, Upper Fagu at Gorubathan under Kalimpong district, 

In Darjeeling district, 1 person in Batasia TB centre, and 3 in Old Railway Hospital of Kurseong are admitted for quarantine. 

With the home coming of students and working people from other states, the number of people in home quarantine at their residence is increased in the district of Darjeeling from 461 to 517 while in Kalimpong district it is increased from 362 to 389. 

STATE

Within the last 24 hour, in the state ,110 new cases  (1 day before-124, 2 days before- 153) and 8 death (1 day before-5, 2 days before-1) and the total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 is 2173 (1 day before-2063, 2 days before-1939) while active cases is 1363 (1 day before- 1374, 2 days before-1337).

The death toll till now is 126 while there is 72 death due to Co-morbidity.

The number of persons released after recovery in the last 24 hour is 113 (1 day before-82, 2 days before-45)  and it tally to 612 (1 day before-499, 2 days before-417) till now.

The testing of samples of Covid-19 in the 18 (4 new) ICMR testing labs has been increasing at a very good rate and today 5007 (1 day before-4201, 2 days before-4046) samples within 24 hour were tested that tally 52622 (1 day before-47615, 2 days before-43414) since day one.

A total of  92495 (1 day before-90915, 2 days before-85477) persons are currently under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and number of people released from home quarantine was 68199. Today 24266 persons are in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance.

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 6978 (1 day before-6689, 2 days before-5921) persons and so far from these centres 21022 (1 day before-19945, 2 days before-19453) persons were released in the past.  

Currently in the state there are 68 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 16 Government Covid hospitals and 52 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
