North Bengal ready with Covid care centres

SNS, SILIGURI 3 MARCH 2020: Following chief minister Mamata Banerjee's announcement of setting up dedicated nodal hospitals for COVID19 cases in districts, several hospitals and 'care centres have already been readied in north Bengal.
The list includes Dr Chang's Hospital at Matigara in Siliguri that has 100 beds; Neotia Getwell Healthcare Pvt Ltd at Matigara in Siliguri, with 217 beds; Desun Hospital at Kawakhali in Siliguri (144 beds). Paramount Hospital on Sevoke Road in Siliguri (277 beds); Medica Hospital at Pradhan Nagar in Siliguri (110 beds); Medica Cancer Hospital at Rangapani in Siliguri (50 beds) and Nivedita Nursing Home at Pradhan Nagar in Siliguri (64 beds).
Touch Hospital in Jalpaiguri with 60 beds and Lion's Hospital in Rajganj block of Jalpaiguri district have also been set aside as covid care centres with 120 beds, while the Maharaja Agrasen Hospital at Fulbari near Siliguri has 50 beds.
"At present, treatment (of COVID patients and suspects) is going on at the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) in Siliguri. However. we have taken Dr Chang's Hospital as well if we start running out of space. Patients will be shifted and admitted to the private hospital that has been prepared. Right now, there are few beds at the NBMCH for COVID treatment. However, we are making preparations for patients to be referred to other hospitals whenever required." Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) of Darjeeling District, Dr. Pralay Acharya. said.
Likewise, AYUSH Hospital at Topshikantha in Alipurduar district has been set up as a Covid hospital with 100 beds.The Cooch Behar Mission Hospital at Chakchaka has also be en set aside with 120 beds.
