COVID 19 ...KALIMPONG UPDATES ....Four test negative for coronavirus

COVID 19 status in the GTA area on 6th April 2020
KalimNews, 6 April 2020, Kalimpong: Four Covid positive people of Kalimpong have tested negative after they were tested positive for the disease five days ago. These four include, husband of the deceased Kalimpong lady, brother of the husband, wife of the brother and brother's daughter child. 


Official sources said that with another test  for the novel coronavirus to be conducted after the completion of their 14-day isolation period if found negative they may be released from the isolation center.

Other 6 immediate family members of  the deceased Kalimpong lady Sunita Debi Sing who also tested positive are also in Isolation center at Siliguri. Their repeat test will be done today for confirmation. 

They are all part of a family of 10 from Kalimpong and Siliguri. A domestic help of the family also tested positive and is also in the Isolation center at Siliguri.

The four who have now tested negative are more relieved.


The domestic help used to work for five families at Kalimpong and the family members of them are in quarantine centres. Family members of the two domestic helps are also in quarantine centres since the day when Sunita Debi tested positive for Covid 19.  Test for Covid 19 has been done for 29 people who are stationed in quarantine centres and are waiting for the test result. 
Altogether 46 are now in two quarantine centres in Kalimpong. 
392 people of the GTA area belomging to darjeeling and Kalimpong districts are under in self quarantine and under observation. They include some people related to suspected Covid 19 cases and travelled from abroad or different big cities.
