54 new cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal.. no new cases in the hills..

KalimNews, 20 April 2020, Kalimpong: Contrary to the report of the union health minitry and a letter sent by the MHA, no new cases has so far been reported in the two hill districts of Darjeeling and Kalimpong. 2 Covid 19 suspected cases of Mungpoo also tested negative and were released from Desun Hospital. 
Daily statement report issued by GTA states that there is only one nurse patient in Covid Hospital at Dr. Changs's S S Hospital. However our source confirms that 2 nurses and husband and mother in law of a nurse are under treatment and recovering fast. 
At the ITI Fagu quarantine centre of Gorubathan there are 16 asymptomic people. 
Status Report of Covid-19 issued by the GTA states that there are 113 people for self quarantine in the district of Darjeeling. 
Yesterday there were 120 people under self quarantine. 
Today's report states that there are 52 persons in self quarantine to complete their quarantine period in Kalimpong, yesterday, there were 58 persons yesterday and 78 persons day after yesterday in self quarantine. 


As of today there is increase of 54 cases that tally to 245 active cases in the state. 
An official release of the West Bengal Health and family welfare department on Covid-19 states that 424 samples were tested within 24 hour totalling 5469 samples are tested for Covid-19 in the state and 34944 persons are under home observation/surveillance and 23810 persons have completed surveillance. 
Till today under hospital isolation 3228 persons have been admitted and presently there are 226 admitted patients which shows the decrease rate in cases. So far 3102 persons have been discharged from hospital isolation after completing quarantine period. In the state there are 582 Institutional Quarantine Centres in which 14330 persons are kept in Institutional Quarantine (Cumulative) and so far 9870 persons have been released from Institutional Quarantine (Cumulative). 
With 1944 new cases within 24 hours, a total of 17656 confirmed cases of COVID-19 is reported in the country. As many as 2842 have been cured/discharged after recovery. Within 24 hour 52 more death totalling to 559 death is recorded in the country. 
The highest cases is recorded in Maharashtra as 4203 (+552) confirmed with 223 (+13) deaths and release of 507 after recovery. 
The next is Delhi with 2003 confirmed cases and 45 death and 290 recovery followed by Gujrat which recorded abrupt rise in number outnumbering Madhya Pradesh with 1851 confirmed case and 67 death with 107 discharged.  The next highest death is Madhya Pradesh with 74 death.
2144 dedicated COVID-19 hospitals have been identified at both Centre and State level which includes 755 dedicated COVID hospitals and 1389 Dedicated COVID Health Centres (DCHC).
