KalimNews, Kalimpong, 30 April 2020: 11 more people died of COVID-19 in West Bengal, taking the death toll in the state to 33. 
In India, since its outbreak, the total number of persons infected by the Covid 19 virus is 33050. Of them 1074 died while 8324 people have been cured (that indicates the total recovery rate is 25.18%). The total number of confirmed cases is now 31,332 and active cases is 23651 in addition to that 1 person migrated to another country.
Through a graded, pre-emptive and pro-active approach, Government of India is taking several steps along with the States/UTs for prevention, containment and management of COVID-19. These are being regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level.
In the areas of Green zone, the state of West Bengal has decided to allow plying of private buses from 4th May. It will also allow restricted movement of taxis with 3 passengers phase wise within a district, afterwards. The number of passenger is restricted to 20 in buses with social distancing. 
Kalimpong is still in the list of Orange zone with containment and buffer zone.
It is also allowing standalone shops business institutions which deal in hardwares, electronics, mobile recharging, laundry, stationaries with restrictions and permission from local police.
Meanwhile Government of India has allowed movement of buses to transport stranded students, migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists throughout the country to return to their native places. 
The novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus has spread across 185 countries and territories. Globally, the United States, Spain, Italy, France, Germany and the UK are the most-affected countries.
Billions of people around the world are into lockdown as health services struggle to cope. Maharashtra, Gujarat and Delhi have reported the highest number of cases in India. The nationwide lockdown started from 24th March for 21 days in the first phase was extended from 14th April 2020 for another 21 days has entered 35th day today, which has been extended till May 3 and may be extended.
It was ordered after a 14-hour voluntary public curfew on 22 March, followed by enforcement of a series of regulations in the country's COVID-19 affected regions.
The lockdown was placed when the number of confirmed positive coronavirus cases in India was approximately 500.Schools were closed since 14 March 2020.
To tackle the situation and to ensure that we are prepared well to face the challenge and threat posed by the growing pandemic of COVID-19 the Corona Virus, the Government of India is taking all necessary steps.
Though the lockdown has been extended till 3rd May 2020, with guidelines from the Government of India regarding tightened and relaxed restrictions some states has declared its further extension.

There are 2 patients at Dr. Chang's Superspeciality Covid 19 Hospital. Yesterday, 2 nurses and mother in law of one of the nurse were released after testing negative twice. But  the husband and the 22 month old child of one of the nurse who tested positive after sometime of the nurse testing positive are awaiting their next tests to be completed for negative result. 
1 person of Darjeeling is admitted today in Desun Hospital in Siliguri while 3 patients of Kalimpong district were already admitted there. Presently there are 4 persons who are not Covid -19 patients and are under treatment for immunity related symptoms. 

Toady 2 people of Kalimpong who were undergoing quarantine at the quarantine centre of Gorubathan located at ITI of Upper Fagu under Kalimpong district are released after completion of the quarantine. There are none in any of the quarantine centres of Kalimpong district.
Today 1 asymptomic person is admitted at the quarantine centre of Batasia TB Hospital in Darjeeling.
As of today the number of people in self quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is increased from 106 to 109 while in Kalimpong district it is increased from 69 to 101.

STATE
With 37 new cases and 11 death and discharge of 15 person recorded today the total number of Covid-19 active cases in West Bengal is 572 (yesterday-550) and 33 (yesterday-22) deaths and the total number of confirmed cases is 744, however, the union ministry has stated the toll was 758. 
The testing of samples of Covid-19 in the 14 ICMR testing labs has been increasing at a very good rate and today 1905 (yesterday-1397 ) samples were tested within 24 hour that tally 16525 samples. 
As of today 10773 (yesterday-13307) persons are under home observation/surveillance and 57765 (yesterday-48793) persons have completed surveillance. 
Till today under hospital isolation 4179 (yesterday-3778) persons have been admitted and presently the total number of people infected by COVID-19 contagion in West Bengal is 744 (yesterday-697). 
So far 3849 persons (15 -today) have been discharged from hospital isolation after completing quarantine period while 139 have been discharged after treatment. 330 are still admitted and undergoing treatment. 
In the state there are 66 Covid Hospitals and 582 Institutional Quarantine Centres in which 19301 (yesterday-18882) persons are kept in Institutional Quarantine (Cumulative) and so far 14013 ( yesterday-13443) persons have been released from Institutional Quarantine (Cumulative). 

INDIA 
In the last 24 hours, 66 deaths (yesterday it was 73), has been recorded taking the toll to 1,074 in the whole country. 
1718 new cases were reported within 24 hr, and have surged to 33050 confirmed cases (yesterday it was 31332 with 1897 new cases),  23651 active cases (yesterday it was 22629  with additional 1022 cases). The death recorded due to Covid-19 was 1074 (+66) (yesterday it was 1007) (+73). Today 629 people that tally 8324 people have recovered so far according to the latest update released by the Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare.
Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state with 9915 (+597) cases and 432 (+32) deaths and 1593 (+205) recovery. 
The second highest increase is observed in Gujrat which has outnumbered Delhi, it has 4082 (+308) confirmed cases and 197 (+16) death and 527 recovery and release from Hospital.
The next is Delhi with 3439 (+125) confirmed cases and 56 death (+2) and 1092 recovery.  
No fresh Corona case has been reported in 80 districts since last 7 days 2144 dedicated COVID-19 hospitals have been identified at both Centre and State level which includes 755 dedicated COVID hospitals and 1389 Dedicated COVID Health Centres (DCHC).
