TT, 17 March 2020, CALCUTTA: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced the following precautionary steps to combat the coronavirus threat:
Private facilities cannot deny treatment to coronavirus patients, if any.
All educational institutions will be closed till April 15; only board exams and those associated with work related to them, and administrative officials engaged in emergency tasks like preparing salary bills, need to work during this period.
Auditoriums and halls should close at least until March 31; a review meeting will be held on March 30; shooting for reality shows will stop.
Malls can remain open with safety precautions.
Clubs should impose "restrictions".
No municipal polls "till the situation improves".
The Assembly adjourned till March 26, when Rajya Sabha polls are scheduled.
