Forensic lab may come up in Dooars
Pinak Priya Bhattacharya | TNN | Feb 25, 2020, Jalpaiguri: Tired of waiting for test reports from Belgachhia forensic science lab, the forest department has decided to come up with a similar laboratory in the Dooars.
The decision was taken in the wake of the rhino deaths at Jaldapara.
The forest minister held a meeting with senior forest officials at Kolkata on Monday and there it was decided that to put an end to their dependence on the Belgachhia lab a new forensic science lab would be set in the Dooars. Madarihat in Alipurduar has been primarily identified as the site.
