Cheating FIR on son of Chamling

RAJEEV RAVIDAS, TT, 15 Jan 2020, Gangtok: The Sikkim State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd has filed an FIR with police, accusing former Sikkim chief minister Pawan Chamling's son Bijay of cheating by dishonouring a contract for the supply of computers awarded to a firm owned by him.

Pawan Awasthy, the managing director of SIMFED, said on Tuesday that Bijay's firm Zaynun India had been awarded the contract for the supply of 364 computers in December 2013, but the cooperative received only 95 pieces despite paying an advance of Rs Rs 1.77 crore.

"The 364 computers were worth Rs 1.80 crore, but only 95 were supplied which would have cost about Rs 45 to Rs 46 lakh. The remaining amount of about Rs 1.30 crore was neither returned nor the goods supplied," he said.

Since Bijay's phone was switched off, he couldn't be contacted.
