On reaching the Mahanadi Darjeeling Himalayan Railway station, Banerjee had a conversation with the Railway officials. She exchanged ideas on how to make best use of the space for public utility and beautification.
"A small park for children next to the station where there is a discarded railway siding would further enhance the beauty, as well as draw tourists," suggested the Chief Minister to the Railway officer in-charge.
After the administrative meeting in Kurseong, she visited the second campus of Presidency University, being built in the Dow Hill area of Kurseong and scheduled to be operational by mid 2020.
