Bengal gains highest success in recovering/tracing missing children'
Amitava Banerjee | MP | 23 October 2019 | Kolkata: After a delay of two years, the Crime in India Report for 2017 was released by the National Crime Records Bureau.
As per the report, 3,59,849 cases of crime against women were reported in the country with Uttar Pradesh topping the list with 56,011 cases followed by Maharashtra with 31,979 cases.
West Bengal registered the highest success in terms of children being traced or recovered in 2017. In the year 2017, 3,055 missing children from West Bengal were traced, which accounts for 14.7 percent of all children traced (20,713) throughout the country.
