Hill `solution' nudge to BJP and allies

The national working committee and central programming cell of Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangha (BGP) -- an apolitical pan-India forum of the Gorkhas -- on Wednesday held a meeting in Delhi and stressed the need for the BJP to come clear on the solution.
Sukhman Moktan, president, BGP, said that their organisation was committed to the Gorkhaland demand. "The government at the Centre should make it clear what it means by permanent political solution," said Moktan. "Whether it is Article 244A, Sixth schedule of the Constitution, Union territory or statehood or any other provisions under the Constitution, the government should come clear," Moktan added.
The BGP also wants Darjeeling BJP MP Raju Bista to take a lead role in this issue. Article 244A and Sixth Schedule envisage greater autonomy. The apolitical body is emphasising on statehood.
