Rockvale Academy emerge as champions in badminton
TT, 29 July 2019: Rockvale Academy, Kalimpong, were champions in the Regional Badminton Competition 2019 (West Bengal and North East States) under-17 girls' category conducted by the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) at South City International school in Calcutta on July 17.
The team members were Emilina Chhetri, Ekta Rasaily and Dipshika Sharma.
The team will represent Bengal and the Northeast in the CICSE national games for a final selection to represent the ICSE board in the National School Games organised by School Games Federation of India (SGFI), which is under the Union ministry of youth affairs and sports. A Rockvale team comprising Vinayak Chhetri, Abhigya Raj Pradhan and Rigden Sherpa bagged the second spot in the under-19 boys' category.
Heritage School, Calcutta, won the top honours in this category. The boys' finals were played on July 19..
